Hello everyone, thank you for all your hard work & dedication to this community.

I'm having some trouble as of late, I'll start by giving you the stats on my equipment.

Mortar V5 telescopic brass mechanical mod with copper contacts.
Provari VV With Z atty pro rebuild-able atomizer.Nimbus (dual/single coil) rebuild-able atomizer.
Mainly VG juice. Bobas Bounty is what I'm currently trying to use.
Rolls of kanthal... 28,30,32
Multimeter
batteries - AW IMR 18490 3.7V 1100mAh - AW IMR 18650 3.7V 2000mAh (7.4WH)

I've seen a lot of videos on how to get the nimbus and z atty going, even the one by Zen himself, I can get vapor but not the amount & consistency I'm looking for, so unfortunately, I'm stuck using analog American Spirits until then.

I've seen people have success by boring out the hole of the nimbus, wrapping the wick more etc. The wick types I currently have are... Cotton & steel mesh, I was also hoping you guys could recommend some good wick material to work with, because of the steel mesh/silica scare. I heard ceramic was good but expensive, hard to find, easy to break etc.

Any tips or simply a push in the right direction would be much appreciated. I've looked for ecig books, no luck so far.

You certainly got some of the best gear available...
So it is not that.

My guess is that you should look at your coil-building technique and practice that...
with the nimbus first.

Genesis-attys are a lot harder to get everything working right... Progress only after
you mastered the nimbus to avoid frustration... imho.

Cotton is very nice wicking material... current fav in combination with micro-coils.
Although i think silica and mesh work very well as well.
Any of these... built right... will be able to give you an outstanding vape.

Very low risk...
especially if you use micro-coils... these meter in above 1 ohm typically...
so it should be very safe with quality batteries (a&w, panasonic, sony).

With the above mentioned batteries however i have no qualms going sub-ohm...
(i never go below 0.6 though).

You can actually calculate, whether or not your coil is safe with a certain battery
using ohms law... With this calculator e.g. http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/ohmslawcalculators.asp
When you put in the voltage of your battery and the resistance of your coil you
get current in Amps... If that number is within the specs of your battery (with a safety margin)
you should be fine.

Maybe also throw in a 2-cent safety fuse? For good measure? Can't hurt...

But with recent advances in coil building... the glorious micro-coils... i don't really see any
reason to go crazy with sub-ohms anymore. I don't...
