Alright, I don't know if my batteries are crapping out on me or if I've just refilled the cartos a few times too many, but here lately all I get is air and a whistling sound when inhaling. I don't have anymore new cartos at the moment to try out, but I'm thinking it may have to do with refilling the same 3 cartos more than several times over the past week.
Looking inside, the swab is fluffy and no longer appears tight like it did when I first opened it up to refill. Also, the taste is not so good...not a burnt taste, it's hard to explain. Almost like a metallic taste. I also don't get that "sizzling" sound when inhaling like I did with a fully charged battery and new or freshly refilled cartos and the vapor is seriously lacking despite putting 15-20 drops inside.
I've also been charging my batteries in the portable charger that I bought from MVS. It doesn't seem to have an indicator to tell when the battery is charged so I may be using a half dead battery.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
Steve,
I tend to doubt its your batteries - they aren't that old. I don't know if a PCC charges them any differently than USB cord to computer or AC adapter (which is what I use). I generally wait for my batteries to die and then do a full charge, which typically takes about 2 hrs. You could try that - let a battery die then charge for 2 hrs, which should be a full charge. You can also pick up a USB charge for under $10 next time you make an order. Those have a red/green light indicator to let you know when it has finished charging.
I would think its your cartos. They do have a limited lifespan. I have some that last 10 refills and some that don't even make it to one. The most important thing to helping them have a long lifespan is to make sure they never get dry. Based on your current situation, I would definitely place an order for some new cartos. While you wait for them to arrive, you can try cleaning your existing cartos. I have tried once and had a 0% success rate. All of them were toast when I tried them again. There are several methods (using water, using PGA, baking, not baking...). I used PGA and baked to dry. While it didn't work for me, It works for a lot of people. Search the forum and you should find lots of threads regarding cleaning cartos. The way I looked at it was this: right now, they are dead and going in the garbage. If this is able to save them, great, but I'm not losing anything if it doesn't work.
I think the most important purchase you can make is cartos - not something you want to run out of.
