Hello all, I'm new to the wonderful world of e-cigs. I recently picked up an Ego Eroll, which I plan to do a full review upon my name being unlocked, and love it! So far I'm two weeks in, and have cut my "analogs" in half! I also picked up an iTaste vv 3.0 from a buddy, and well, though it's not as easy as the Eroll, love having a spare.

Thanks y'all! Bob, would you care to break down the itaste to me? When searching for an e cig, I wanted something small, something that was close to a regular "analog" like a Blu, so I opted for the Eroll. There is a local shop in my area that specializes in the (i guess you could say, 2 piece designs) larger e cigs. Most of my friends jumped on the hype of the local store, yet couldn't explain to me why I needed a variable voltage, wattage, how to change wicks, what all was compatible etc. I'm just now getting the Eroll technique down, but for the price and everything he was giving me on the itaste, I couldn't pass it up.

In a nutshell, that iTaste 3.0 is a considerably better device than your eRoll. The iTaste has both variable voltage, variable power, an ohm meter, +/- buttons, pass-through charging, LED display, puff counter, ego and 510 threading, and smaller than a Twist. In other words, you have a full feature APV in a very small form factor. Other than that, it's just a backup....to my Provari. And yes, those are all good things. Recommend this video:

Should answer most of your questions about these features.

A variable voltage or wattage device gives you a level of freedom that your e-roll battery cannot give you. If you are absolutely satisfied with your e-roll, it's all good but if you are the kind of person that likes to try new things and explore what the vaping world as to offer a variable device is a must have.

There are 2 main items that makes an electronic cigarette, a battery and an heating element called an "atomizer". Now... all atomizers are not created the same. They have different configurations of element that will make them work incredibly well at a specific voltage while another one won't do so well (even, will not work at all) at that same voltage therefore the need of being able to adjust the voltage of your device.

But how do you know what voltage you need to set your device to? Simple! By taste... If you find that vapor is to thin and doesn't taste anything: Pump it up a bit until it's just right for you. If it tastes burnt: Turn it down.

With a variable device you can buy all sorts of cool atomizer: kanger protank, vivinovas, cartomizers, clearomizers, top coil, bottom coil, genesis, drippers etc etc etc.... The list goes on and on and all of them will work great on your variable device. Not so much on your e-roll.

Welcome to the vape lair!

There's been some great replies already. I have a cigalike set for super stealth and I share it with noobs so they can give it a whirl (3 converts and counting).

While my cigalike does produce great vapor in a tiny package I quickly upgraded to a winder and itaste 3.0. The biggest negatives with the little guys is battery life, small capacity, and inflexible vapor production. It's important to me to not have to care about charging anything for 8-12 hours and also not have to fill tanks/cartos all the time. Just makes life simple have 2 vv batts that cover nearly 24 hours combined on full charges. I vape a lot too. Not super heavy but at least 3-4ml/day. That's less than 3 tanks (i prefer evods with 1.5+/-ml capacity).

I can set myself up in minutes in the AM for an entire day of vaping 4 different flavors without having to deal with any charging or filling. Not to mention I can dial in my preferred vape on each flavor. I'll change voltage or wattage with the same flavor too depending on what I'm doing and how I'm feeling (think volume button on a music player. I don't always jam out). I sure many do the exact same thing as me but each person is unique.

I think an evolution is important for all noobs if you can afford it. That way you have plenty of backups for whatever purpose and have all sizes and types covered. Jumping from a cigalike or eroll straight to a vamo/provari is missing an important step and piece of inventory that all vapors should have IMO. The itaste 3.0 is a great size combined with an evod or similar sized tank. Not too big, too small, or too heavy and it's got all the important features packed into a batt that only costs $24 on FT or $33 here in the states. Kinda hard to beat that considering what you get compared to a basic vv batt.

One feature in particular on the itaste 3.0 is the mini-usb charging port. I spend most of my time in front of a pc or in the car. I'm never without a cable and you can charge and puff at the same time. Many twist type batteries require tank removal to charge.

My next upgrade is the MVP and a Vamo. Then the final will be a provari or something along those lines. A good analogy with gear is like fishing poles to a fisherman. You want to have a decent one for all situations and scenarios. But you don't buy a $1,000 Gloomis fly rod until you are a pretty good fisherman. But even when you become a great fisherman, you still use all the old poles from time to time because they have a time and a place.

Enjoy!

Found this one pretty good.
