Hi Erik_alm. Welcome to the ECF.

What was your Coil Question?
Hi,

Been searching for a while now but have yet to find a good answer. So I'm using triple fused Clapton coils (.3), and absolutely love them. However, I'm not really sure when one need to replace the coils. Been using the same set for well over a month now but have yet to see any dissolvement or such. When do you usually replace yours?

Welcome to ecf.
I use ss tri core fc coils and replace when the flavor starts to drop; usually 1-3 months depending on flavors used. If you are using juice that doesn't gunk too bad and only needs a dry burn once or twice a month a good coil can last 6m or longer.

The Simple Answer is replace or re-wick or dry burn them when the Flavor and or Vapor levels noticeable Drops Off.

Time Isn't really a very good gauge of how long a Coil will last. A Coil may last Months if a person uses Lightly Flavored/Sweetened e-Liquids and Vapes 1ml/day at Lower Wattages. Whereas the same Coil may last only Hours if it is Chain Vaped with Heavily Flavored/Sweetened e-Liquids at Mega Wattages.

Lots of things go into How Long a Coil Might/Might Not Last.

The Only Real Rule I would suggest is if you Like some particular Coil or piece of Hardware, Stock Up on them. Because you Never Know what the Future May Hold. And if it/they will still be around for as long as You Want them to be.

I only replace a coil once I cannot clean it fully.

Me too except when I am being lazy.

Oh hell why lie? I replace my coils when they are just so bad I'm like "I must." They get all gross and flaky. Also sometimes the meatier coils can last longer.

One time I definitely replace the coil is when it becomes a problem, like if a leg comes loose, and it's easier to replace than try to fix it. Excellent time to ah, replace a coil.

ALSO I don't really dry burn I am more of a "clean it" person and I pulse it gently and so my coils last (low flavorer person here too, DIY.)

Haha nice, glad to hear I'm not the only one then.
Like to burn off the gunk every time I re-wick. And if I'm in the mood I'll just put a drop of juice on it and do it again until they look good as new.
