Hello everyone,I'm fairly new to the vaping scene. My boss has been analog free for over three months now,and has had nothing but great things to say about the Awesome Vapor E-go and seeing his success I decided to try it myself..I have been a pack a day camel light smoker for about 23 years, and have tried the patch, gum, and cold turkey (that was terrible)...and I gave up quitting for the most part until I met my current girlfriend of eight months and she has never dated a smoker, and can't stand the smell..
She says I can smoke if I want to,but really she hates it....That was my wake up call to do something about it for me foremost, because I really do want to quit and I don't want her to be around me puffing on a cigarette anymore.
Well,I've been vaping now for 11 days and have gone from a pack a day to about 4-5 a day.....The first thing in the morning is the toughest though.I still crave a smoke every 4-5 hours and I'm not really counting the ones I smoke, but the ones I haven't smoked. Hopefully I can soon be analog -free. I look forward to chatting with you all soon
Oh by the way,I have the E-go,and have a few flavors in 18mg,and 12 mg...So far Bobas Bounty is my favorite! Yummy!:)

Welcome!

I have an extra extra battery so I can leave my PV set up overnight while charging the rest of my batteries. When I get up the PV is ready to vape and right where I used to smoke. And that also helps me when I go to bed because I already have the other batteries and PCC charging so i don't have to mess with disassembling my PV right before I go to bed (I found that disruptive and a bit stressful).

Another thing that helped me is that I don't even really like the cigarettes I was smoking before I stopped but I could no longer afford my favorites. So I was quite happy to vape instead of smoke those. I think it helped that it was not my all-time favorite cigarettes sitting around for emergencies.

And the other thing that helps is to find some juices you love!!! I did but a bunch of juices but once you find some you love then I don't think smoking will be as attractive. As a camel lights smoking you might want to try FreedomSmokeUSA's Desert Ship and their Camtel (not sure if they have those as samplers but they are definitely in the Tobaccos section). Normal discount code freedomsmokeusa for 10% off. And probably not your thing but I also really enjoy their sweet oRYental 4 (their sweet vanilla caramel tobacco), sometimes alone and sometime just a drop added to a cart of a plainer tobacco juice.

And make sure to let yourself smell some of the vapor. Cigarettes blow smoke all over you so you don't have to remember to smell them. With e-cigarettes it's good to let a bit waft out of your mouth so you get get the aroma. This will be more meaningful when you have some juices you like the aroma of. Some of those Chinese PG liquids don't have much aroma.

Welcome Scooter and gratz on cutting back. I took it as a step process I went from 12 or so analogs a day normally to 1-3 a day after I got my first pv (DSE901). So for the first week I just finish the pack I had left (about 14 or so) then after that I did not feel that i needed or wanted to buy another. When i had a craving to smoke i went and vaped for about 5-10 mins and when i was done .... i didnt have the cravings anymore. After about a week I just looked forward to vaping and didnt even think about the analog. So take 1 step at a time when you dont feel the need or want for analog smokes anymore than you can have a cool sig like MINES LOL NON SMOKER HERE!!!! ^_^

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! It's great to be here...I will definitely order some 24mg juice on my next order because the 18 mg is close to satisfying the urge to pick up an analog and the 12mg isn't really working for me just yet.
i've been up three hours so far,and I tried vaping as soon as i got out of bed....normally I head straight for the garage to light one up.Well it worked temporarily and I didn't have my early morning analog.I did have one right before I went to work though.( that's the toughest one of the day for me).

Welcome Scooter! You've certainly come to the right place for some great advice from lots of great people!

I agree with others about buying some 24 mg - and also about getting several different juices & flavors! I have found that some of the juices that I really like come in different mg levels... some even in 12 or 8, but they still satisfy me... I guess it's the flavor instead of the nic! But try several until you can find what works for you! (I still keep some 24mg for those stressful times when I really need a good TH & hard vape! LOL) Good luck!! :)

Hey Scooter,
Glad to see you on ECF. Welcome.
I understand about that morning analog. I still have a few "necessary" analogs throughout the day, but vaping has cut my smoking by at least a third. I'm finding that cigarettes are tasting worse and e-juice is becoming more enjoyable as a replacement. I suspect you will have the same experience as you go along.
I also agree with the 24mg. That's my mainstay, although I cut the 24mg PG with enough VG to knock it down to 15 to 18mg for usual vaping.
My significant other is a non-smoker too. She is much more agreeable to vaping and actually likes the slight fruity odor from my vapes. It's great to have a variety of flavors to enjoy.
Keep up the good work! We can be analog free!

Thanks again everyone, and Numevexo...Yes,the analogs are starting to taste "odd" and not as appealing.Probably because I couldn't taste them before. That's a good thing, because I really don't want to like them anymore...I'm doing pretty good today,I smoked one analog at 6:30am and another one at 1:00 pm.Normally when I smoked analogs only,I would have smoked about 12-13 by now so that is a huge improvement! Happy hour at the local bar is in an hour so that will be a test for me...Wish i had that 24mg juice everyone recommends, but 18mg should get me through it. Happy vaping.......Scott

You are doing awesome. Isn't it great to not want an anolog versus not having one but still craving it. You are well on your way to being analog-free. Yes, there are going to be situations that challenge you, ie the local bar and friends who smoke. Get through these things, one vape at a time, and keep working towards your goals. Everyone's journey is different, you'll get there, it just takes a little time. You came to the right place for support. Best of luck.

Oh! The dreaded Happy Hour.:) Best of Luck...you will probably cheat a little, that is a hard one to get past! But don't beat yourself up, if it happens...just get up in the morning and get back to the PV. Things will sort out over time. Your doin good. Hang in there.

Thanks SecondChance,I had two at the bar tonight, which would be four for the day.Yes I did cheat a little,I didn't really need those two,but old habits are hard to break, and tomorrow morning I hope to vape myself away from that dreaded "first thing in the morning cigarette",and start the day off fresh....I'm relying more on my Ego than I though I would which is a good thing, and hopefully in a few weeks I will be analog free.....That is my goal, and thanks to the e-cig and this group of great people I think I will succeed,so big thanks to all of you for your replies...I really do appreciate the support!
