Hi there. Just introducing myself real quick. My name is Ryan. I'm 32, been smoking a pack a day unfortunately for half those years. Haven't gone two full days without a cigarette all these years. The patch? No. Nicorrette? No. Cold turkey? No. Buproprian? No. E cigarette? Yes! And it's a fun hobby. Went two months without a smoke, until summer came around and my pro tanks started leaking and gurgling more than they were vaping. And flavor started diminishing. But I'm giving it another try. Just got a kayfun lite and gonna get a mech mod, excited to see where it goes from here

to ecf rmacaronio. Glad you're here. Isn't it wonderful? Only thing I've tried that worked for me. Look forward to reading more posts. Happy vaping. :)

Welcome!

Why are you going mech right off the batt instead of regulated?

Mechs are nice. Simple, fewer parts that can break, and smaller in most cases, without sacrificing battery power.
Regulated mods are nice because the remove a lot of the safety concerns of the mechs: over discharged battery, coil shorts, continuous firing, and they also provide vape consistency where the quality of your vape will diminish overtime on your mech as the battery drains.

Also, it seems early to jump into rebuildables (kayfun). It makes vaping more of a hobby. If you like technical things (wood carving, shop work), are relatively handy, and have a basic understanding of how electrical components work, you'll do fine and probably enjoy it as you get better at it. (I do anyway)

That being said, I wouldn't recommend an rta to someone who is just starting vaping. I'd say keep the egos and try some different clearomizer.

I don't presume to know what is right for you, just giving you my honest opinion! :)

Again, welcome. Good luck with your vaping journey, I hope it goes well for you. There are a ton of people here ready and willing to help with any questions you may have!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Welcome!

-I didn't really make it clear in the post. I've been vaping for maybe 6 months now. Started with a regular kanger evod ego starter pack. Then I got a regulated vv/vw inokin mvp 2. Used evods and protank 2s with that. Got a couple drippers (igo l and i think some smoktech one) and experimented with building my own coils. The mvp isn't bad,I just think the mechanical mods are all really sexy. I've read up a lot on all the safety aspects involved. I won't be sub ohming. Think i might get the kick 2 so it will function more like a regulated mod.

-I'm not too into technical things to be honest, but this has already become a hobby.

-the protanks were fine until the weather started heating up. Then they started leaking and gurgling more than vaping. I hear top coils act better in the heat, and I did get one with the mvp2, but I hear a lot of good things about the kayfun, and the idea of not having to buy coils all the time attracted me.

I don't presume to know what is right for you, just giving you my honest opinion! :)

-no problem.

-Thanks!

Not sure i did the whole quote thing right. I'm new to using any kind of forum, and new to this app (tapatalk)

Thanks for the understanding and clarification.
From what you said... DO IT!
I switched to a SiD(18650 version with similar limitations of the MVP except it will do 3amps and 15w) with a kayfun and a trident clone after vaping evods and pro tank mini 2s for 3 months.

Mechs ARE sexy. I just got my first one yesterday (4nine clone). I love how tiny it is, and how hard it hits on a fresh battery!

Are you looking at a particular mech or style of mech?

At first I wanted to get an authentic copper vanilla from smok e mountain. Don't have the money right now though, maybe in the future. So I'm either going to go with a stingray clone, copper nemesis clone, or copper penny clone.

Any suggestions on a brand of juice that doesn't feel like I inhaled a brillo pad?

LOL are you talking about flavor or throat hit?
You could try a lower nic juice or higher ohm coil for throat hit..
Juice:
Higher pg is usually more flavor and throat hit.
Higher vg is usually bigger clouds.
