I figure I'll introduce myself and work my way up to five posts so I can reply around this here place.

Background: I bought an ecigarette about a year and a half ago - way overpriced but solid, and I continued smoking cigarettes and using the ecig when I was lazy and didn't want to go outside into the heat, or I wanted to smoke it like a hookah.

About a month and half ago I decided to save money and stop smoking the regular cigs completely. The worst was the first couple days, but after that my sense of smell got stronger, my sleeping better, and my bank account less empty. I have taken one puff about two weeks of a cigarette since then, just to see if it was still attractive to me. It wasn't satisfying one bit, and even a bit disgusting. Smelling cigarette smoke walking into Wal-Mart was unpleasant. This is a great thing! After a week

I will now try to slowly wean myself off of nicotine, but I'd still rather inhale nicotine, PEG/VG and bit of non-diacetyl flavoring Vs. a .... ton of different oxidation products contained in that one way overpriced rolled up stick of tobacco.

Now I always noticed you don't get the full effects that a cigarette offered - I read this is due to the fact that tobacco when smoked also releases a MAOI which increases mono-amines in the brain and allows dopamine to accumulate in the synapses at higher levels than pure nicotine or at baseline, because there is less MAO to break it down as quickly. This however is something I am totally willing to live with, I'll give up that extra little bit for my health, my money and my sense of smell and not smelling like tobacco smoke.

Is there discussion of the pharmacology on forum somewhere? I have to get to 5 posts anyway so discuss away here!

Thanks for any input, kind words. :D:):D

tobacco contains a number of alkaloids that will give the user a buzz, not sure if any are considered an MAOI.

WTA or whole tobacco alkaloid e-liquid is available. but it is not cheap. the reviews i have seen say the user perception of the WTA e-liquid is not much if at all different from normal (just nicotine) e-liquid..

GLAD to hear you finally took the plunge and started vapeing and stopped smoking - congrats. Truthfully, I don't really see much difference in the overall effect between the two. I fired up my vapor and never looked back at needing/having a cigarette, just stopped them and that was that. You now have enough time into the process that it should all be good anyway. The body should have adjusted rather rapidly to the chemistry changes, not getting all the 'other' chemicals was the biggest change in the overall.

We started at 12mg and it was very satisfying for my wife and I both. We actually didn't stop smoking right at first, but when we did neither one of us had any problems with wanting analogs at all. We now vape at 9 and will over time lower that to 0. I doubt i'll ever quit vapinig I enjoy the hand to mouth satisfaction I get like I got when smoking.

WTA was mentioned earlier and while its not part of my daily rotation, as it is pricey, I found it very satisfying. I def agree it can help those vapers who feel theres something missing. If you're liking what you got then I can't say theres any merit to checking it out for yourself. For me those maoi's where a bit problematic in my transition. Personally I think the biggest struggle in going to 0mg is the lack of throat hit. PG can contribute a little to TH but most of it is in the nic. I made some 0 nic juice before because my wife (a non smoker) was curious to try it. I took a few pulls and it was just sucking air. Great flavor but a very unsatisfying feeling. Anyways welcome to the world of vaping!

Thanks for everyone for their input, as well as their support for quitting cigarette smoking!! It's greatly appreciated!

the only difference I see between smoking and vaping as far as the satisfaction aspect is ciggies make it happen faster and for some weird reason my ears ring alot louder when doing ciggies... BTW I vape NETs so I may be getting something extra thats not found in the flavored juices...

Can you elaborate? What's a NETs?

I dunno, if there was some sample of WTA to try out that you can just drip in any e-juice, I'd be down to try it.

How is it used? Is it merely added to already mixed e-juices? Is it used as a vape for certain company's ejuices.

First, nothing hits like a cig. Cigarette smoke particles are something like 10 times finer than vapor. It gets deeper into the lungs. I've seen reported that a cigarette nic hits the brain in under 12 seconds. Vaping takes over a minute.

In my opinion, that's the big thing. Once you acclimate to the slower response of vaped nicotine, life is good.

And congrats on stopping smoking!!!
