Thanks in advance for your input and advice.

As a lot of 'new member' threads here say, I'm very overwhelmed with all the brands and options.
Here is what I'm looking for...
--I smoke cloves and only cloves. Flavor-wise I'm looking for something comparable to Djarum Lights / Sampeorna Exclusives / Sampeorna Mild A's.
--I smoke about half a pack a day right now. Its more a habit than an addiction, I don't smoke at all during work day, etc so I'm mainly looking for flavor over nicotine content.
--I'd like a hardware setup that allows me to use my own liquid (I believe this will be best option for me to find flavors that suit me).
--I have read that the units larger than a regular cigarette are preferred for multiple reasons. I am open to a 'manual' unit versus a 'draw activated' unit but I'd like something not SIGNIFICANTLY larger than a regular cigarette... maybe up to the size of a cheap cigar like Hav A Tampa in diameter but not that long if possible.

I'm looking for input on both hardware (prefer under $75 for a kit to get me going, cpl batteries, charger, etc) as well as liquid supplier inputs (have read positives on tastyvapor's kretek liquid already).

If you have certain threads or sites that you'd rather point me to than type out a long dissertation I completely understand and am thankful for those references as well!

Welcome to ECF!

My personal experience had me starting out with an 808 battery(slightly bigger than a cigarette).
Then someone turned me to liberty flights E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings
There is a 20% off link in the top left that you can click before you add stuff to your cart. They have a few good options as far as starter kits, I have the Riva carto deluxe kit.

If you are looking for any kind of tobacco flavors I recommend Halo. They have two sample packs that you can get to get a wide range of their juices available to try out.

Thats just from my experience, there are a milllion options out there for you.
