I have been vaping on and off for a few years with cigalikes with little success and lot of cost but recently went to a local vape shop and picked up one of their starter kits. It worked well for a few days but then I started burning coils and flooding. Found out it was cheap knockoff of a evod. Bought a couple of smoke tech tanks(Pyrex aro and trophy) and now am very pleased.

One problem I have experienced though is flooding followed by dry hits. Can anyone help answer why?

There's a few reasons why that could happen. Make sure everything is put together well on the clearomizers (tanks). It can happen sometimes user error or manufacturing flaws. Another thing can be the wicking. Some e liquids wick better than others, but if you're having flooding first......it could be the draw. If you take a strong puff and suck in to much e liquid, you can get flooding. Then if your tank is partially drained the wicks might not be wet enough. Hopefully some other folks will chime in for more advice :)

I do draw pretty strong, replacing coils once or twice a day is getting more expensive than smoking
would different ohm coils possibly help, using 2.4s now

Once a day should be more than adequate; a coil should last a few days; don't toss them; they can be cleaned, and/or partially rewicked and/or rewicked and/or dryburned and/or completely rebuilt.

To reduce leakeage problems you can keep the tank upside down.

When you hold it up to your ear and fire you should hear a snap crackle pop sound; if coil is flooded you'll hear a burbling sound and if you turn if over, after a second or two, to flooded liquid will flow towards the mouthpiece and you will hear the snap crackle sound.

I have some carto's that, depending on the juice, need a hard draw....I think it's just best to change the way you draw to a slower, longer draw and hopefully avoid the flooding and gurgling.

Have tried dry burning and cotton reworking but with varied results, the only fluid I use that doesn't give me any major problems is a hot cinnamon.
Have been floating around the board for a few days and have learned a lot.
