Hi everyone. I have been considering E cigs for quite some. My ultimate goal is to quit real cigs eventually, but probably not for a while. I've been researching and there are SO MANY options, I don't know where to start. I currently smoke about a pack a day. I actually don't really smoke it all, I'm one of those that smokes about 1/2 the cig then toss it. Anyway, I'd like to start with a kit that includes everything I need to get started. Every time I get close to taking the plunge I worry it's not the right choice. Any tips? I really don't care if it looks like a cig. Also I'm afraid of odd flavors. I want it to taste like a cig!

Congrats you want to switch. First off your not going to find anything that taste just like a cig. wanted something that tasted like a cig as well but I am useing some fruity juice that I really like. This is my setup i have 2 ego type vv batterys with Kanger protank 2 minis that work really well.

Gonna start out telling you that no juice is going to taste just like a cig. And finding a flavor you like isn't simple, be prepared to try a few before finding a favorite. So start small. Best thing you can do is find a local brick and mortar store that allows juice sampling.

Most start on a simple regulated battery and a ce4 or protank or something similar.

I always recommend starting with something that has variable voltage/wattage. Some will disagree there. But having the option is good since they will be about the same price anyway.

Cartomizers aren't a terrible place to start for an atomizer and work your way up to something a little more complex.

Great to hear! I quit smoking using V2 ecigs in September, but if I had to do it over again I'd buy something with a 510/ego threaded battery to start with. There's basically no price difference in the kits, but the thicker 510/ego battery is compatible with most accessories out there, while the cig-alike 808 batteries leave little room for upgrade. I'd also suggest a cartomizer if you want more of that tight "puffing" feel you get from a cigarette. I had tried to quit with a store bought disposable ecig, but the flavor was awful so I gave up after 2 days. Don't give up if you don't like the first couple of tobacco flavors you try. It's well worth it- about 6mos later, I won't even touch a cigarette and am in LOVE with vaping! What kind of cigs do you smoke? I don't do tobacco flavors anymore, but others will recommend. Good luck!

I would recommend the inokkin iTaste vv3 - it has all the same features as the more expensive regulated mods and is self contained and can be used as pass through when you are stationary at a desk but unplugs quickly when you need to move

here is a look at it but you can shop around for it
Innokin iTaste VV/VW V3

in regards to your last line - vaping is not smoking - you will not find an eliquid that will taste exactly like a cigarette, sorry, but the sooner you accept this the better

some tobacco flavors I would recommend to try are RY4, DKTAB, 555 etc - also get a variety of nic strengths as the nic absorbs into your system differently than it does with cigarettes (it is not as fast as when you "hot box" a 1/2 a cig when stressed)

hope this helps

My first attempt was Tabaco tasting juice was big disappoint . Just not the same! Then someone suggested to look at what you might have instead of a cigarette such as hard candy gum fruit. Tried lots right now it is peach cobbler, jolly rancher, and H2O bubblegum. Lots of good ones out there! Waterrazzle is awesome as well. Quit regular cigs this past Holoween started with nicotine at 30% and now down to 18% I agree cigarettes tasted nasty now skin looks 100% better and no nasty smell! Good luck

I had already put down the cigs, and was "maintaining" on a combination of nic patches, nic gum and "The Nicotrol Inhaler" a little white piece of plastic, within which is a cartridge which dispenses a very, very, frustratingly small amount of nicotine -- if it's not dried up -- before I found an E-cig, and was sent speeding to heaven. In contrast to several other posts, I do still like the cig flavors, but now use a 510 tank, dual coil cartomizer, mod and e-liquid. I love vaping, cannot ever see myself going back to the "stinkies". ( I also am in love with the coffee / espresso "juices" ). Explore the vast horizon now open to the eager vaper -- your lungs and life deserve it !

You will want 2 batteries, the spinner 1300mah will last the longest on a charge and it's variable voltage. The MVS kit allows you to pick of several toppers, the mini protanks are good and very popular with bottom coils that are replaceable. All you have to do is change the little head inside when they go bad or they can be rebuilt. I usually recommend 18mg for starters then you can go up or down if needed. I have never tried their juice but buy spinners from them.

Congrats soozr -- It's very hard to even DIY vjuice to taste just like a cig. I can do it with specialty flavors but I have heard straight nicotine juice comes close. Never tried vaping straight nic juice myself. I started with the eGos. My first juice was Vanilla Tobacco from these guys.

I got a 1000 mah eGo with a charge cord and a 5 pack of those Dual Coil Cartomizers. It kept me off the cigs. Good luck, and welcome.

I smoke Marlboro light 100s. I think I'll need that "puffing" feeling at least starting off.

Since you smoke lights and 100's I think that 12 to 15 should suit you fine if you just need that puffing. If you get it too strong you will get the worst Nicotine headache you have ever felt and it will be combined with the withdrawals of the other chemicals.

I'd lean more to 12 but get some 15 for when the craving gets real bad.
