I had the entire evening to play around with my new "toys". I'm pretty impressed with the V4L 808 although my only other ecig was something called a Liberty Stix (found it at a local store). Everything came in working order and very quickly from V4L. I was not very sure about the manual battery, but now that I have had a chance to use it, I like it better than the auto. I gave my auto batteries to my wife and she placed an order last night for some carts.
I never thought that I would use the PT. My morning usually begins with a cup of coffee and 20 minutes returning e-mails. My normal routine in my analog days would be to fire up the computer and step outside (we did not smoke in the house) and smoke a cig. This morning I fired up the computer and hooked up the PT and I was good to go. I like the PT!
I was a menthol smoker so my first order included a number of menthol carts. I have not found one that gives me the same hit and vapor production as the "555" 24 mg. I was not sure I liked the 555 at first, but it is now growing on me. It duplicates my old analog smoking experience the best. The other menthol carts just don't seem to have the same vapor production.
All in all, I'm pretty happy. I'm doing this to quit my analog habbit which had grown to 1.5-2 packs a day. I had been smoking for 30 years. I have not had an analog for 5 days now. The e-cig may be my ticket...
I'm not sure how "safe" this new habbit is, but I have to believe that it is "better" than the analog world.

You'll come to notice that most pre-filled carts don't work quite as well as filling your own or dripping. The only thing I missed about the prefilled carts I used to use was the flavor some of them had.
Pasthroughs are pretty cool little devices, I made the only one I have. BUT I took it apart to use the switch for a test on a mod I was making and have yet to put it back together.
As far as health concerns go, I don't speak for the community on this but most if not all of the negative claims out there are grade A bull..... Propylene glycol, nicotine, and flavorings...nothing to be scared of.
The FDA claims that they foud trace amounts of 3 TSM's (which are carcinogens) in one of their unspecified e-liquid samples. Although they failed to mention that 2 of the carcinogens were not present in the vapor, and the other was so minute that it was found to be tolerable. So much so that the amount is actually LESS than what can be found in other FDA APPROVED items. grrrrr....lol

so not totally on topic, but regarding nic strength, I have found a nice sweet spot with Halo Smooth 8 (12 mg nic) for morning and night, while vaping 24 mg Flue Cured during the day.
