New Member - Received my first PV (Joye510) in the mail yesterday!

First let me say that i knew absolutely NOTHING about e-cigs/PVs a week ago. This forum has taught me what i needed to know to get started and make an informed purchase.

I ordered the Joye510 starter kit from awesomevapor.com, along with a USB PT and a few different flavors and strengths of e-juice.

Ive been smoking a pack or more per day for 13 years. Im 31 now and after doing quite a bit of research it seemed as if PV's would be the perfect tool to help me quit smoking. It wasnt too hard deciding on the 510 after finding this forum, as it seems to be the most recommended.

Now that Ive got a day's worth of experimentation and use out of it, Im so pleasantly surprised I can hardly believe it. Im quite sure I made the right choice on the Joye510. Also, I just now implemented HighPing's super easy cart mod and it seems to be an improvement, so Ill continue to use it for now.

Not knowing what to expect going into this whole thing, Im just so happy that my 510 works so damn well, and that vaping is truly a pleasure! I wouldnt be at all surprised if my last analog cigarette is less than a week away!

So, thanks to awesomevapor.com for a fantastic product and customer service, and thanks to this board for the wealth of much needed info! Of course Im only getting started and there's so much more to learn, so I believe you'll see me around these boards.

One little hit to staying away from analogs that I used, was when I was someplace that sold cigs, I'd stay away! Like, getting gas, I would NOT go inside. At walmart, I'd avoid the cig checkout line. It seems kinda silly, but I think it helped me

Ive got a quick question: Do low resistance atomizers noticeably increase vapor production on the 510? Are they generally recommended?

Some people swear by them. I have never used one. I think they're worth giving a try if you've got the funds. I think the biggest issue is with making sure they stay wet so they don't die. The only reason I haven't used them is because once I tried cartomizers, I never went back to using an atty except for when I direct drip, and never felt that I needed extra vapor when doing that. I could have been missing out on something by not getting the LR Attys

If you have a genuine Joye atty, the difference won't be huge. But it is noticeable. However they are not recommended for the 510 battery. Supposedly they will kill the battery. I've tried it and it cuts the battery life almost in half. I have not used them long enough on a 510 battery to know if the batt will fail.

Yeah, not for a 510, an ego or above is fine as they have a higher mh rating.

so if i wanted to try something new, an eGo battery and LR 510 atty will give a noticeable increase in vapor from a standard Joye510 setup?

im really just asking out of curiosity, my setup now is really perfect.

and when you get tired of playing with your brand new toy and are no longer stuck with the idea of it looking like a cigarette get an eGo or a Hello 016 plus some 510 cartomizers so when you are sick and tired of needing to recharge the battery way too often and your atomizer no longer sucks up ejuice like it should you will have a reliable ecig

and the cartomizers are a great device even with just a 510 especially if you want to smoke while driving

The ego with 510 lr atty is my preferred setup, many others would agree.

I just thought I'd put in my .02 since my experience over the last 2 weeks.

I have some old premiumEcigs that a forum member informed me were actually KR808's and I just bought a provape-1 (in the 510 config) two weeks ago as well. When I ordered the provape, I also ordered:

5 regular cartos
5 LR cartos
2 regular attys
2 LR attys
1 510 > 808 adapter
1 808 > 510 adapter

After everything I read I figured I'd love the LR atty's on the provape, which is a 3.7v mod. Well, I quickly became frustrated with both the normal and LR attys and decided to go for the LR cartos. I LOVED them at first. The TH and vapor production was great and I had no issues refilling them using the condom method. The problem I had from the beginning was the flavor. I just figured it was the sample juices that came from provape but my oder from vaporbomb hasn't arrived yet. So just for fun, I went ahead and filled a few of the normal cartos with the 3 best flavors (marlboro, banana and vanilla). Low and behold, they actually tasted right! I haven't used any of the LR cartos since.

Now, I need to do more research and experimentation but I have heard that different vg/pg mixtures and different flavors benefit from the LR or higher voltage mods... hence the elusive "sweet spot". And I'll also say, using the 510 adapter on my KR8 batts with the LR attys, I get performance I didn't even know was possible from that kit. I just can't stand the flavor.

As for my experience to date, the normal cartos have been the easiest, tastiest, and most satisfying combo. When my vaporbomb order, which is all 50/50 pg/vg comes in tomorrow I'll try it all over again and see what tastes best.

like i said before im more than satisfied with my standard joye510 setup, but if there's a way to get more FLAVOR im definitely interested.

i think the first thing im going to try is to get my hands on eliquid with a higher % of VG. im pretty sure im using 80/20 atm.

I had to reply to this. These types of posts are so encouraging to see. I was a smoker of 12 years and quit cold turkey. I am past the usual cravings but when i drink a little or get around people that are smoking I tend to crave a bit. Thats where my Joye510 comes in SUPER handy. Thanks for the awesome post OP
