Hello, I am a smoker of about 7 years now and I want to quit smoking so I decided to buy a e-cigarette. I know that it won't help me quit but at least I know that i would be inhaling less chemicals while I'm trying to quit. I ordered the JOYE510 off of e-cigexpress.com and a few hours later I found the intellicig. I'm wondering if anyone has tried it and how it compares to the joye510. I'm only asking this because the I looked at the site on intellicig.com and they claim that their 'juice' contains no PG. I know that there aren't any proof that states that PG causes any damage but it's better with less ingredients than with more im guessing. So would anyone say that intellicig would be a better buy and is there anything else that makes it better than the joye 510?

I'm only asking for future reference when i buy a second one since i already ordered the joye510.

Thanks for your reply.

Well first let me say welcome to ECF. I started with th 510 and it is a great device. I can't say anything about the intellicig as I've never seen one. As far as the PG thing goes I to thought it would be healthier without it untill I tried the VG which is the alternative to PG and it made me drink water nonstop and made my mouth very dry. It also gave me terrible headaches so I quit using it. PG is in so much of the products we consume daily that I quit worrying about it and especially when I noticed my doctor has been prtescribing it to me for about 5 yrs. under a different name. Good luck with your descision. PS I quit smoking after 50 yrs with this product.

I believe you made a good choice with the 510. This was my first and only e-cig and it is still doing me good many months after the fact. I do not have any expierence with the other PV you mentioned so I cannot tell you for sure. I all know is that the 510 is a superior product.

Once you get your 510 kit in the mail I believe you will change your mind about ordering another type of PV. In the future you may want to move on to some sort of 510 mod for better preformance and bettery life. There are tons out there.

As far as PG versus VG, there are no significant or studied health differences. PG is just as safe as VG in all respects. VG tends to be thicker and will give you more vapor, where PG is thinner and will give you more flavor and throat hit. I found that using liquids with a high VG content ruined many of my atomizers very quickly. I suggest that you find a good mix of PG/VG, I wouldn't go any higher than 40% VG myself.

But I am sure that the e-cig can and will help you quit smoking for good, contrary to what you might think. Just be sure to give it time, it should be a relatively smooth transition.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping, I hope you enjoy your stay. :)

you're probably going to get a lot of conflicting answers as everyone here uses different equipment.

I like the 510 for a few reasons:
1) good vapor
2) easy to fill
3) battery life is ok, for someone who vapes as much as I do.

I don't like it because it's a three piece system which can get complicated if you get into mods and whatnot. However, they do make cartomizers for the 510 which turn it into a two piece system. I haven't tried them, but they are getting decent reviews.

I also like the kr808d-1 (vapor king from vapor for life)

It's convenient in a two piece system. The cartomizers are fairly cheap. The premium cartomizers make a decent amount of vapor and have good flavor. The battery life is on par with, or maybe a little better than my 510.

I don't like the 808 because the cartomizers are less convenient to fill, though still not difficult.

Personally, I use my 510 at home and my 808 on the go. It works for me.

As far as your first PV, I'd say probably get a 510 to learn about vaping and once you get addicted to vaping, you'll probably want to try other things.

Welcome to the forums, you'll find a lot of useful information here.

Also, though PVs are not marketed as a device to quit smoking, many people have done so. What is really great is that the cartridges and liquids come in different strengths so you can start off strong and work your way down to no nicotine. If you still like vaping after that, you can do it just for the flavor, or you can walk away.

There is also really very little difference between PG and VG. They both are used to create the vapor that delivers nicotine. Some people do well with VG, others with PG, some like a mix. Some people have noticed allergies to PG, so VG is a good option for them. I wouldn't base your decision for buying a juice off of what it is made out of until you get more familiar with how PG and VG work in a vaporizer.

In my month of buying everything that everyone has recommended tin search for the holy grail. Just buy the KR808d-1 I went with Smoke Tip for the life time warrenty but Vapor 4 life has better looking ones just a shorter warranty. 2 pieces no mess no fuss and can change flavors easy until you find one you like then you can vape away on your 510. I use my smoke tip battery more than my 510 801 ego and 901 combined. It is just easy and always works and never floods. That is my 2 cents which I cant say anyone cares to hear LOL And welcome

thanks for your responses everyone. I was only wondering because on the internet, mostly on youtube, people kept saying how it's such a great e-cig with a great battery life and what not. I'm very excited to get my joye510 in a few days but if anyone has tried both, the joye510 and the intellicig, i would like to know what the difference is. thank you very much.

PG has had more testing done on it than VG, so Id take with a pinch of salt that because it says 'VEGETABLE' in it it makes it better. It might but I cant say for sure :)
Ive not seen this other PV either - the one you mention - but Im a huge 510 fan - still have my original one and apart from battery life I love it to bits :)

Intellicig has the ECOPure juice line, which a few of the forum supported suppliers carry that same line. Just do a forum search on ecopure and you should come up with some reviews of it.

As far as the Intellicig, the most I could find without straining my poor fingers (read: I didn't try too hard lol) was a review from 11/08 on it. It was a positive review, but didn't contrast with a 510, just a 901. In that same thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...views/3414-review-intellicig-e-cigarette.html
there's a negative post about it, not sure if it was resolved to be defective equipment or not.

As far as the 510, it's pretty much the starter of choice around these parts. It's a very strong vapor producer, and a consistent performer. The main drawback is battery life. Standard mini batteries will give you 1.5-3 hours of life, depending on your usage. The good side.. they recharge in around 30 mins.

At this point, I wouldn't venture to say the intellicig is a better choice, but then again I'm also biased to the 510 since I own one and have not had problems with it taking care of my needs.

It can be a pain in the .... to manage juice input since I personally drip, and driving makes this difficult.. but then again I don't drive very long trips so it's not a huge issue for me, again, all down to personal preference and usage. Cartomizers make long trips where you don't want to have to sit back and feck with the unit every so often.. just throw the carto on and vape it dry, then throw on the next one, and set the empty aside for refilling if you choose to do that.

sorry about this guys, but i've been wondering for a while now, how long does the liquid in the e-cig last before i have to refill? will one refill last me the day before having to refill? (in terms of cigarettes, i usually smoke half a pack a day or a little less) and how long does the 'cartridges' last before i have to purchase new ones?

Thanks so much.

that's a difficult question to answer because it depends entirely on how you use the PV. Personally, I can't go half a day with my 510 before I top it off or have to fill it. But, I can use a single cartomizer for my 808 for an entire day. Depending on the capacity of the cartridge and how much/how often you vape it will vary.

How long often does one refill per one on average? Does it get annoying after a while? (just wondering)
And also, I've been really wondering this for a while and i dont know if its a stupid question to ask but when people say that the battery lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, is that 2 hours of constantly using it or is it just two hours whether or not you use it?

hours of use - the less you use it the longer it lasts - in my case at least. I got a PT because the 510 battery, the way I use it, doesnt last long enough and I wasnt wanting to go the mod route at the time. I still use my PT - now I have another at 5v though :)
As for refilling - depends totally on how often you use it. Whats average for me wont be the same for you, or for someone else. Its not annoying - or at least no less annoying than finding a lighter, then finding an ashtray - or a place I can smoke if Im out, which might take a while, and smoking a cig. For pipe users Id imagine PV use would be a breeze; they are used to 'messing with bit n pieces'.

Everybody goes through the process of learning what works for them. The vaping community has some very creative people who have come up with good solutions to most of the common frustrations. If the batteries don't last long enough for you there are battery mods. some take a big battery that last a heavy vaper a couple days. If you don't like filling the carts there are devices that have automatic feed systems like the "juice box". If you want to you can find a way to make vaping easy and pleasurable for yourself.

According to the poll here on ecf well over 80% have quit using tobacco when they went to the ecig, many have even quit using the ecig in time.

In contrast the sucess rate for stopping using tobacco with the other approved methods,
gum, chantex, etc. is at the very most 15% and probably less.

The ecig is ment to be an alternative to smoking, non the less this is how it has worked out for many users.
