For Some Education.

I am a former cigar lover whom after moving to CA found the prices about 60% higher than mid-west and east coast. Also factoring in fifty-fifty chance of getting a poor condition smoke led me to try pipe smoking. Have been enjoying this for a couple years now and once had a vast selection of backy to choose from. Now only my least liked ones remain. Instead of ordering more I want to give vapor a try. My idea is to get a nice kit that will satisfy with a large volume of output. The Triton tank System so far is the one I have my eyes on. What other Ego systems should be considered that have great quality and performance? Second question since I like English blend tobacco and cigars what is a good source for the e-liquids I should like?

I don't have a ton of experience with different gear, but I've been pretty happy with the Kanger Mini Pro Tanks myself. It's a satisfying vapor production, relatively inexpensive, can take any type of juice out there and it looks sweet on pretty much any color battery.

Surprisingly, when I got into vaping, I thought I was going to prefer tobacco blends...but it turned out that I prefer citrus and fruity flavors a whole lot more. Still, I want to try to find a great tobacco juice to enjoy with beers since I've found fruits and beer don't mix so well. I've been keeping a good eye on the recommendations to come out of this thread as it's a pretty interesting concept, I like his tastes and there's been some interesting recommendations so far.

Good luck with your switch!

You never know, you might not like the tobacco juices that are out there. My best bet for you would be to try sample packs of juices from different vendors, that way your not stuck with junk and you can find what you love to vape! The eGo systems are great for starting off, you can get a eGo c twist or vision spinner so that you can adjust the voltage to your tank.

Joyetech Joye eGo-C Twist Variable Voltage 650mAh Battery

check out the twist and you can see if you like that setup.

go there and look for a local shop, there are tons in cali! once you find some near by, stop and and try out a few setups. most brick and mortar shops will have demo's and even allow you to try out a few flavors. This way you can find exactly what you like. Others wise your guess is as good as ours, some like evods, protanks, cartotanks, cartomizers/clearomizers, direct dripping on a atty. What I like my wife despises and what she likes I can use but it's not may favorite way to vape.

Thanks for the reply's. Now what can you tell me about quality starter kits? Checking out the Kanger EVOD kit now but all the choices I have seen are enough to make my head spin.

Yes, there are so many choices. I'm pretty new and decided I just wanted to get started before I changed my mind, lol. I have this kit and like it a lot. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Here is a link to get it at a very good price. I ordered mine here and it shipped quickly. If you use the code ECF at checkout you can get 10% off, so it's about $30, and it's free ship:

Kanger EVOD eGo Full Kit - Vaping Me

P.S. this is a good brand name, and the quality has been sufficient to keep me from smoking for the last month!:)

I totally agree with checking out some brick and mortar stores so you can not only try out mods but especially the different tanks and juices. We started with a local place on juice and got really used to the tobacco flavored juice from them and then when we tried ones that actually have more of an authentic tobacco flavor from a different local shop and we didn't like them at all. Had we tried some of them early on we might have thought they were great but it does seem like you grow accustomed to whatever you vape a lot and then don't like other ones that are in the same category from other places. Some people maybe don't have this problem but it was hard to imagine being happy with vaping any of those I tried after getting so used to what we are using. We haven't gotten in to any of the other flavors besides tobacco yet, probably will play with a some of them in the future as long as they are in extra tanks so we can switch right back to the old standby. We have only been vaping a few months and not a lot until December. Good luck and happy vaping! :vapor:

If I could do it over again, I'd have built my own starter kit. VV Kanger or Smoktech batteries with Kanger mini pro heads and maybe an eVod or two. Its a good mobile setup and when you look for a more capable home setup, it still has a place. Now, knowing what I know now and assuming I was an occasional cigar smoker, I'd probably jump straight to a good mod and bypass the starter kit entirely. Its a more difficult jump, but not insurmountable. That's my 2 cents if you're more about the quality than the quantity, unlike most cigarette smokers. Good luck!

I scored a stainless steel kit outta the Bay for $29 delivered from what appears to be a reputable seller. Now I am seeing the Protank 2 that looks interesting :2cool:

I think I see your point. Oh well, looks like I will "get my feet wet" with the EVOD kit. No regrets! :)

What do you consider to be a good Mod? Also can you contrast between VV Kanger and Smoktech batteries for future reference?

For tobacco liquids take a look at Parkes Vaping. They have more tobacco flavors that any place I've ever seen.
Many of their liquids have reviews & they also have sampler packs at a good price.
The owner is a tobacco flavor user & they specialize in them.

Worth a peek.
Good luck.

Will check them out. Ordered a sampler kit from want2vape last night giving me 6ml of five various tobacco flavors to try.
