New member - thought I would introduce myself

Hello everyone,

My name is Ryan, I'm a firefighter by trade and I live in Bangkok, Thailand, originally from Boston. I've been reading on these forums for months, but I though I would finally make an account here and start posting.

Like many, I've made my way from cheap eGo clones and Stardusts to an iTaste SVD and several genesis attys (all clones). One of my favorite parts about vaping is how much time you can put into it; time that really pays off. I love building coils, trying new wicks, and eventually start mixing my own juices. I'm trying desperately to get myself a Futura, I think nexgen could easily become the next Provape.

I'm proud to be among a community of pioneers. It may not be robots or rocket science, but what is happening now is going to shape our future. For better or worse I'm not sure, but more and more people are switching over from tobacco and in the future even more will. The gear is getting better it seem like every week. In a few years we'll probably be 3D printing the latest attys at home.

In the meantime, I look forward to learning some more and contributing wherever I can.

Cheers,

Ryan

Hi Ryan, saw you answered my other thread question ;-)

I suppose its not really appropriate for me to "welcome" you since I am also new here. But great to read about your story.

Can't believe how fast vaping is growing and nice to see such an international community here. Am from South Africa myself.

I have huge respect for fire-fighters and admire the work you guys (and girls) do!

Vape on

Ryan, Welcome.

How is Vaping viewed in Bangkok? Are there any vaping lounges?

I'm also glad to be a part of the vaping crowd. Glad to have you here.

Its kind of difficult to say. Nobody bats an eye if I vape at a mall, but if they see my SVD when I walk by they start talking. Its becoming more popular over here, but still - misunderstood maybe - by most people. I know a few Thais who vape, but the Thai vaping community is pretty robust. Lots of online vendors since the legality here is questionable.

Not sure what you mean by vaping lounges. Is that a physical thing? If that's what you mean, then no. There is a forum, thaievapes, that a bunch of us foreigners use. Small, but a good mix of people on it. They're planning a meetup soon, but unfortunately I'll be in the States for this one.
