I've smoked analogs since I was 14 years old. I can't remember exactly why I started in the first place but that's not important. What is important is that I will never feel the need to touch then ever again thanks to these incredible devices.
I've 'quite' smoking twice in the past 17 years. I don't have an addictive personality, per se, so I've been able to stop 'cold turkey' for those extended periods (2 years the first time and 6 months the seconds time). I never had the need to grab a cigarette after waking up in the morning or as part of a regular routine. It was more of a boredom type thing for me, I think. I'd smoke while playing on the computer or during long drives and when hanging out with my smoking friends. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it though so, although I was well aware of the health risks, I didn't feel the need to give it up. The biggest hurdle I've had getting away from analogs is that my girlfriend, who I live with, smokes very heavily. Being around that made me want to smoke as well, so I did.
I'm a technology consultant and provide support for several companies in the area. I'd been searching for a way to cut down mine and my girlfriend's smoking for a few months now, mostly due to the comments and looks I get from clients who could smell the smoke coming off of my clothes. During last Friday's visit to one of my clients, my on-site contact was vaping in his office and introduced me to this wonderful community. That day I went to evapers.com and vapables.com and placed my orders. On Monday I received the first shipment from eVapers. I spent a good deal of time online learning as much as I could about vaping over the weekend while I waited for my packages. That alone had me smoking far far less than I normally would and got me very excited. My girlfriend has a very addictive personality but she is doing great. She's had 6 analogs in the last 3 days, as opposed to around 40-50 a day. I haven't had any, down from around half a pack a day or so.
Rob, from eVapers has been great. Excellent response time, great quality products, and his patience with my questions has been great.
Sorry for the long winded intro here. I look forward to learning all about vaping and hopefully giving back to the community in some way.
One quick question before I browse through the forums some more; How do I get those quit smoking counters in my signature that I've been seeing around?
