Hey everyone,

I just bought a starter kit from GotVapes and haven't been able to find good answers to a few of my questions.

How often do I need to clean the eGo Stardust cartomizers if I am using between 1.6-3.2ml of liquid a day? I read that you clean them when the vapor production goes down, but I've also read that some people clean them every night or every other night. It isn't clear if they are cleaning them for vapor production reasons or if there is another reason they need to be cleaned. Other than the loss of vapor production, or when switching liquids are there other reasons they need to be cleaned?

An hour or so ago I took the tip off the cartomizer and a drop of the liquid went into the hole above the coil. Without thinking I just blew on it, put the tip back on and used it. The taste was horrible so I'm wondering how bad it is when that happens, for me or the device?

Thanks

Welcome , but you only need to clean them when the flavor and/or vapor production drops . Or , when changing flavors . I tend to use a different one for each of the flavors I vape ( only 4 or 5 ) and keep the bottle of juice with them , in a seal type baggie . Then when I want to vape that flavor , I know which one to put on my device . Some people believe , if you clean them everynight , that they won't get gunked up as fast . Really hasn't been proven to me , just yet .

Well I only use Stardust aka ce4"s..... you can tell when they need to be clean by the vapor because the coil gets gunked up thus it doesnt heat the juice up as quick or get as hot as it needs to be. it could be everyday or once a week that depends on the juice, some cake the coil up faster .. but you will notice when it needs to be cleaned

Hi MVCF, I think I've done this a few times. You've probably blown out a lot of juice and got a dry hit. Just top off a few drops and give it a go. Sounds like it tastes terrible because you're getting burnt filler.

ETA: If you've burnt it a lot then toss it. I use bottom coil cartos so a slight burn doesn't make a difference.
