Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post.

I'm brand new to the world of e cigs. been doing analog for a good part of the last 19years. A friend of mine showed me his "Duracig" from thailand with caramel ejuice. Took 2 puffs and was totally impressed.

Needless to say i've spent the past few days poring through this and many other sites. I've ordered a starter kit from strictlyejuice as well as some 10ml bottles of ejuice just to try.

Here's the BIG problem for me: I live in Singapore. Ordering from the States is tough as most places don't ship outside USA. Thus I have to send it to a 3rd party company who specializes in shipping from USA to singapore for a ridiculous amount of money. (something like $16 base cost, plus $3.50 per 100g, or something stupid like that)

Subsequently, I want to be as cost-effective as possible. I ordered 2x15ml bottles of ejuice from tasty vapor because most of you guys say dekang juice from strictlyejuice isn't good. So I'll do a comparison and decide for myself. (and I like the option of varying VG vs PG percentages)

Without the ecig in hand, and the experience of vaping, all I have to go on is your input and opinion.

Thanks for bearing with my background. Now, on to my questions:

1) cartridge modding- I dont think pyramid tea bags are sold here. What other common household items can be used to mod the cartridge so that I wick as much juice to the atty? Has anyone tried coffee filter paper? (lol dont laugh, i'm a newbie!)

2) that blue foam from strictlyejuice: should I go ahead and buy a whole bunch of this stuff and use it instead? I KNOW myself, and I will never go through the hassle of cutting straws, or fiddling around excessively with various things. I just want to vape, and throw away my analogs. Unless you guys know anything I can buy as a PTB/blue foam alternative?

3) Atty: So these suckers break down very frequently. Should I just stock up a whole bunch and hope for the best? whats a good rule to follow, to prolong the life of the Atty? (clean how often, how and with what?

4) batt: should I stock up on these? I hear they fail very frequently.

5) spare cartridges: the PTB cartridges from cignot...any good? do you change cartridges everytime u switch ejuice? Should I have 1 cartridge for each flavor of ejuice I have? do these breakdown? whats the rule for proper maintenance?

6) PCC: I ordered one from electronicstix. spoke to someone online (I think it was Jason) who promised to mail a PCC to me today, direct to singapore.
Do I need more than 1 PCC to last me the year?

7) lastly, ordering from so many different sources is getting tedious.

right now it's juice from tasty vapor; PCC from electronicstix, Joye510 from strictlyejuice. and thinking of a second 510 from cignot.

is there a one-stop place to get everything?

thanks for reading this long post!!!

Coffee filter papers don't work. I've seen it discussed here. Tea bags or blue foam work well. I no longer use a 510; retired it in favor of KR808 (2 piece).

See above.

Stock up on atomizers and batteries. I'd have at least several spares of each. It's not uncommon for an atomizer to last a few weeks. Though some last for a couple months or more Batteries last longer but are maddeningly short on life with the 510.. Couple hours to start with, and tapering down to an hour.

I didn't change carts with ejuice switches, but made a couple loose rules: don't use menthol with a cart that's had fruit flavor. Stick with cigarette flavors (i.e., it's okay to switch from Kent to Camel) in one cart and menthols in another, and fruit in yet another. In truth the fruits don't always mix well with each other period. You can take the filler out of the cart and rinse under hot water then squeeze it dry with paper towels and you're good to go again. Do that every few days for fresh tasting flavors.

I haven't heard of PCC's giving up the ghost. One should do you, but make sure and have a charger operating too. You'll need more than one charging source due to short life of 510 batteries.

You do have a lot of questions. I would suggest you take your time. You'll probably change your mind about liquid and vaporizers several times over the upcoming weeks. A third battery and a spare atty should be fine for now. I would suggest sticking with the commercial PG juices for now while you are learning to care for your equipment. The liquid is thinner and doesn't clog the atty as much as thick juice. I use Heaven Gifts in China for most of my purchases. They have a 1-year warranty and low pricing.

I'll let other more learned ones answer the rest of your questions. Good Luck

Be careful when choosing a supplier from China. Most are selling knock-offs. The 2 links Joker provided are probably the best. Both sell genuine PVs.

I wouldn't say 'most'. heaven gifts, healthcabin, and others - the most cited vendors are not selling knockoffs. It's some american vendors that are.
