New Member with a problem with a Itaste MVP v2 - seems clogged when trying to get a hit

Well, I opened it up and the wick and coil were both gunky. I cleaned everything as best I could, and it seems to be working better. Not as good as new. But I called the shop where I bought it and they told me if I brought it in they would get it right for me for free. I may take it back apart and try to clean it more, if that still won't get it right, I'll have the shop owner look it over in the next day or 2...hopefully tomorrow! Until today I knew nothing of coils and wicks.

Thanks to everyone once again! I have learned a lot about the workings of my unit just from this one post!

Awesome its not hard once you have the rite info. I would have them change your coil for you. But watch what they do seeing and learning is not as good as doing and learning but its damn close. If you have been vaping that coil for 2 months I'd just get a new on but keep the old one to try and rebuild when your ready for that.

I think the coil is OK actually. Once I had cleaned everything I followed the first video posted and held the button down for counts of 3 to get the extra water out. After a bit I was able to see the coil turning red hot, so my guess is that is OK, though it does sound like i got a long run out of it! I'm currently vaping and it is at least 60% clearer! Looking at the wicks, I can see that they are less than perfect, so I think I'll go and let them show me first hand how to replace them, and show me how to put a new coil on as needed. You guys have been a great help! (No offense to any ladies on the forum) :)

Well, after 4 hours of vaping, my Itaste got clogged again. I'm taking this thing in to the shop and take them up on the free tune up. I'm really starting to wonder if it is my juice, though it has never clogged up THIS fast on the same juice.

Hey Ryan, join us over in the MVP 2 owners forum. Lots of great info for you there as well.

@Dumas - Are you referring to the ring at the base of the Protank? If so, what are you saying about the holes? I see two opposing holes on the ring near the top of the beauty ring. Is there a certain position they should be in?

Hey ryan28801 sorry I took so long to get back with you. Yes, those 2 holes on the beauty ring. If I carry mine in my pocket they get full of lint, etc. and it will block airflow.

Ryan, coils/heads are usually pretty reasonably priced, and I keep a box of 5 on hand at all times. Once you find out what kind you need, you can find them online at lots of places. I don't have the patience or temperament to fiddle with rebuilding them, although lots of people do. I figure that I paid at least $5 for a pack of cigarettes, and I smoked 2 packs a day...replacing a coil that costs a couple of bucks and will last at least a week or so is very reasonable in comparison.

Was this question asked, Did you ever replace the whole coil (not rebuild it) since you've fist got your mvp with the clearomizer? Like others said they do not last forever. If you haven't replaced it at all in two months I'd say you got good use out of it and it's now seen it's days and is gone. Time to get a 5 pack of replacements, they just unscrew and screw new one back on...No need to rebuild.

There are actually 3 tiny air holes around that ring. Poke them out with a pin. If you have good airflow with the atty removed from the battery then these could be plugged, they are your airflow when screwed onto the battery.
