New member with a question

I just got the Cloud 9 Starter Kit from a smoke shop near my apartment, and am a bit confused. It came with "prefilled cartridges" that don't seem to have liquid, but something solid looking in the bottom. It's supposedly "Menthol high" but it does not really taste like anything at all, and I don't think I'm getting much nicotine out of it. Am I doing something wrong? Are these cartridges bad? Thanks..

Not really familiar with that brand - but MOST carts have a soft filler that is soaked in a liquid so it should look like a mooshy (wet but not floating) piece of wool or similar. If yours is solid, it might be out of date and gone hard - its really hard to know as that brand isnt one I know personally and I dont want to give you bad info. Hopefully we have a member who used to use that make and can give you more info.

Just put some tweezers in there, it is soft and mushy!

It didn't come with any instructions... was I supposed to do something before starting to use it? I'm a bit confused as to why it's not tasting mentholy.

Hmm, like CaptJay, I'm not personally familiar with the Cloud 9, but sounds like he's right there too, it's probably dried out. No matter WHAT model you have, it should never be a SOLID.

Are ALL the carts like that? If not, move onto another. If you have any liquid on hand, try dripping a few into it and see if it improves.

Shamush says it is soft and mushy so it has liquid. It could be the way you are inhaling, need to use long, slow draw with e cig. If you are expecting it to taste like a cigarette, forget it as it really isn't the same without the burning and all the bad chemicals in cigs. You might want to buy some liquid in flavors, they come in all sorts of yummy flavors. I rarely use the tobacco flavors as I don't much care for them. Check out Tasty Vapor or one of the others on the sub forums at the bottom.

Read all you can on here, there is a wealth of info on just about everything you could want to know.

is the filler material squished all the way down to the bottom of the cartridge? if so, it might not be making contact with the wick. you might just have to fluff it up a bit so that it works right.

It might jsut be a crap juice - a lot of carts that come with the units taste of nothing - or taste too sweet or too strong..some of the less popular models seem to be filled with flavored water from what people say (Im sure its not actually water but might as well be).
You will probably want to buy more juice - but try a different cart and see if it tastes any better.

Rose could be right about the way you're inhaling from the ecig. Common problem. I wrote a guide you could read here..
