Greetings all! I have been vaping for about 18mo. Was able to dump 30+ years of the analog cig habit after about 3-4 weeks of vaping, so it works well for me. I still prefer tobacco related flavors to the 'fruity stuff', and after a lot of testing, have settled on Mountain Oak for my tobacco flavors. so far, I am satisfied with ego style tanks and 1100mah batteries. I had a 1300mah winder battery that quickly went bad on me, caused I think, by a bad charger pigtail. I also have the Kanger ProII and ProIII tanks, but they both leak and I have not been able to find a source for replacement seals. The seals I need are the large ones that ride between the clear tank and the metal body, and so far I can't find any. So, enough intro for now, let me get to my real question. I just received a couple of alternate power supplies for my tanks that need a high amp USB source for them to work. I don't know what they are called, but what they do is plug into a computer USB outlet on one end, and have an ego/510 fitting on the other end of a 30" cable which you screw a tank directly on to. They work great when plugged into a computer, producing a fine vape cloud with their variable voltage output, but none of my wall USB ghargers have enough amps to make them work at all. I have both the common 5v/1amp and the 5v/2.1 amp USB wall chargers, and neither does the job. I can get a very small vape from a car cigarette lighter USB adapter, but nothing like the cloud I get from a computer USB outlet. I bought these gadgets hoping to use them at the nightstand, freeing up all my batteries for overnight charging. The gadgets came with no specs, so I have no idea what amperage they need for proper operation. The supplier has been unresponsive except to say that they are intended for a direct computer hookup, which does work fine. Has anyone here tried one of these power sources? Is there a wall charger USB unit out there with enough amps to make these gadgets work w/o having a computer at the bedside? Sorry for the long winded post. Any suggestions will be appreciated....DanM

Hello :) In regards to the seals, maybe check a local hardware store. I am kind of confused about what you're trying to charge  ? You say tanks. Do you mean a pass through? Is this what you mean $5.58 Variable Voltage USB Passthrough for E-Cigarette at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Be careful with the charging. You should avoid charging at night. Just in case you have a failure. Waking up to a fire is not good. Charging during day and keeping an eye on things is your best bet. Most important of all: congrats on making the switch :vapor:

I bought LiPo bags on ebay to change my batteries in. (Bought four, gave away two, sold one.)

After reading a couple threads about exploding batteries, I don't feel safe charging my cheap Ego style knockoff batteries without taking some security measures.

The LiPo bags I bought cost me $3.40 a piece. Just go to ebay and search for "lipo bag".

Is your passthru a VV type (like the one Rose linked to)? If so, have you tried running it at a lower voltage?

I have a couple of those, and similar to your experience, they work well on my computer (even my laptop) but not that well on the external battery packs, even the 2A ones. My guess is that the passthru is trying to pull pulses of higher current out, and the battery pack or charger won't let it. (I'm going to try putting a capacitor on the battery-pack output to see if that helps).
