Hi all,

Been lurking around the forums for awhile, and Ive found you all very informative!

I've been a Halo Triton vaper since late January this year. I had originally used Green Smoke back when eCigs first came out, but wan't getting the same hit as regular smokes, so I switched back to regular cigarettes. I had the flu in the beginning of this year and decided to quit smoking once and for all. I decided to switch to Halo since Green Smokes is unable to ship flavored cartridges to California. I've been very happy with my Halo experience, but have a few questions:

1. Generally how long do these batteries last? I alternate between 2 650mah batteries daily. They used to last me the whole day, but now I find that, under constant vaping, they only last a couple of hours before blinking several times and eventually dying.

2. I'm thinking of switching to a rebuildable since I don't seem to be getting a good hit after maybe the first 15 minutes of vaping. It's like that same Green Smoke feel of sucking on air. I've tried to switch the coils to the lower 1.8 - 2.0, but all that did was give the juice a burnt flavor, although I do find it tastes well if I use a pure VG juice. I alternate between 4 juices: 1. Belgian Cocoa (awesomesauce!), 2. Cafe Mocha, 3. A mix of Belgian Cocoa and a Cappuccino from Vapure, and 4. A mix of Belgian Cocoa and Double Chocolate, also from Vapure. Are my batteries dying on me since there is a significantly short lifespan now? Is there any way to prevent this for future Halo batteries?

3. Another option for me would be upgrading to a Halo VV since, but am having a hard time justifying spending so much money on a ProVari system. Is the Halo VV a huge difference? I only really want to stick to 1 setting per flavor, but I do want that setting to be consistent.

P.S. Just how different is the vaping experience with a rebuildable as opposed to a Halo Triton? I see these people with a rebuildable and it looks like there's more vape coming out, but that might just be the juice they're using.

Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

1. Generally speaking a 650mAh battery on the Triton will last most people all day and a little into the next. Sounds like you're a very heavy hitter though, and are exceeding what the Triton can provide.

2. Rebuildables isn't really your problem. Your problem is the battery itself. Quite simply an eGo style ecig is not enough for you, and simply changing the tank on top won't fix that problem.

3. In your case I would skip the Halo VV batteries and start looking at mod instead. Something with an 18650 battery would be a LOT better for your needs.

Your problem isn't the tank on top, it's the battery on bottom. However, if you're going to move to a mod (And you should) then I would suggest getting new tanks as well. I think you would be a LOT happier with a decent mod like the iTaste MVP 2.0 or a Vamo and a tank like the Aspire Nautilus, Kanger Aerotank, or Innokin iClear 30s.

It you want to get into rebuildables after that, great. But getting into rebuildables while still using an eGo style battery is a waste of time IMO.

I started vaping with a Triton almost a year ago, and quickly found it unsatisfying so I continued to smoke. What finally got me to quit was a dripping atomizer and a mechanical mod for the flavor and experience. You just might find benefit from a few setup, however everyone is different and I didn't think I'd quit until I got an experience that was satisfying and pleasurable; after all, isn't that why we started smoking in the first place?

1) all the stick type batteries have a life of +/- 300 recharges, some live longer some a lot less, just luck of the draw - 650 mah lasts me about 4 - 5 hours.
2) To me it sounds like your batteries are waving goodbye.
3) IMO, getting something with a 510/ego connection will open up a bunch more / better delivery device options.
VV/VW is a nice step up and you will notice a difference over non variable, the MVP2 is a good inexpensive upgrade from where you are now.
I prefer carto tanks over any clearo, your experience may be different, try several different delivery devices/ toppers to see what you like best.

I agree with Completely Average about the rebuildables.

Thanks for all the help guys/gals. I guess I'll be going with a mod for a battery now. The MVP2 looks good, but I just can't get over the box design. Right now I'm looking into a Tesla. Anyone have any experience with these? Should I just skip the "entry level" ones and go for a LavaTube or a Provari?

Also, anyone have any luck buying from B&M stores? Everytime I go to one, they're just trying to sell me one of their products which brands I've never heard of.

Box mod or lightsaber. It's always a tough choice.

As far as B&M stores go, I only go to them after I've checked their website and made sure they have what I am looking for at a price I'm willing to pay. I'll pay a little more than online prices to get what I want right now and have the ability to return it today if I get it home and there is something wrong with it. And B&M stores are the best way to try new flavors without having to buy a bunch of sample bottles.

But, unless I know what I want and I know the store has it, and I've done some price comparisons, I don't walk in. I did that when I first started out and wasted a lot of money on their recommended junk.

On most 650 sized unregulated batts, I get about 4 hours of good vape time. I go thru about 6 mil per day and use a 1.8ohm coil. These types of batteries can last as short as 4 months to a year or more before they start to fade.

There is a lot of advice on ECF about how to get the most out of the batteries. Mainly, don't always vape them until they blink and then charge. Full discharging and recharging is hard on them.

If you are using the Triton tanks (Kanger T2), they are top coil and will wick better with thinner (more PG) juices. Very thick juice is harder to wick, leading to more dry burnt hits.

While Halo does in fact make good products, the fact that they have a different thread (808) than almost everyone else (510), within a week I found myself ordering the Zmax made by Sigelei which is a very reasonably priced VV/VW mod. I'm new to vaping and have been overwhelmed reading and watching videos for a few weeks every night. Frustrated with the fact that there's practically NO glass tanks available to fit the Halo 808 threads and many of the juice flavores that I want to try cause cracking and leaking in the plastic ones, the Zmax just made sense as it's threaded to accept almost any tank you want to put on it! Don't look for the cheapest solution...go with as much as you can afford and avoid having to buy several. Look into variable wattage...it automatically detects the resistance of whichever coil/tank setup and adjusts the voltage output so you won't have to refer to charts and do math when you do change them!
