Hi. Just thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. And I also have a couple of nooby questions I'm sure you can all help with.
So today is Day 1 of vaping for me. After 15 years of smoking roll ups (80% of the time illegal ones). I decided that vaping is the way to go. Having Vaped on holiday in Holland a few years ago I understood the concept and decided that this has got to be the best way to kick the weed habit.
So setup wise I purchased an MVP v2 and a Spinner v2 and 2 tanks a Kanger Aero and a Hypertank along with way too many e juices. couldn't help myself.
The day is going well and already I've saved myself £15 today and am feeling great.
So a couple of questions if I may. Obviously being new I'm keen to sample and try lots of flavours as this is what I enjoy most about my old habit. So I'm only putting around 2 ml of juice in my kanger at a time as I have too many to test, my question is does the bottom of the tank need to be covered when I vape? I'm finding my natural angle that I hold the mvp at the juice isn't covering the bottom of the tank. Is this ok? Or do I need to make an effort to keep the mvp more vertical? Also when I take the mvp out and about is it ok to just say for example lay it on my passenger seat or does it need to stay upright? (Such a noob)
Looking forward to joining your community.
(Also I know that drug discussion is a no no and I have no intention of vaping anything other that low level nic e liquids but just wondered if any herb smokers have had success in quoting through Vaping?

Welcome and Well Done Polko!

As an e-cig convert of nearly two years (and ex-rollie smoker) you have done well to "go in" with decent kit.

I started vaping (if you can actually call it that) with cig-a-likes on 27th June 2012. Sadly for me, my bank account was wiped out by the bar stewards that sold useless plastic sticks with £3.99 refills and within a month the cravings had nearly ruined my job and my marriage.

But, I got over it and eventually found my way to 100% vaping. Not looked back since. :)

You can tilt your clearomisers no problem. I try to keep all e-cigs upright in the car, so use the door wells more often. Lying them down is usually OK, but lying them down and shaking them (driving) usually causes flooding.

Keep calm... vape on. :)

Hi, Polko, and welcome aboard!

Nice choices for your first gear. The vape time on the MVP2 is phenomenal, the Spinner is a fine VV source, and both your toppers get good reviews around here.

The wick needs to be wet. So if it's really low on juice, just hold it upright for a bit so it can soak up some more. It doesn't have to be under juice when vaping, although with bottom coil units (like both of yours), it's easier to re-saturate the wick than with top coils. I usually have my devices pointed up when not vaping, and don't pay it much mind when vaping.

After awhile you may find that you have a lot of toppers, which makes trying different flavors easier. In the meantime, if you're going from a mild or light flavor to a more full bodied one, you can just refill with the second (after vaping out nearly all the old.) Going the other way, it may be desirable to take the topper apart and rinse well under hot running water to remove (most of) the strong flavored juice so you can better taste the new. The wicks can hold the flavor for a bit. Learning how to properly clean and dry burn the coils and wicks (or even learning how to recoil and rewick - but save that for later) can greatly extend their service life and pretty much eliminate any residual flavor between juices.

While you may still have a few hurdles, if you're like most of us here you'll find vaping to be very effective in getting off cigs. I'd tried nearly every other way, numerous times, over a span of many years.... and once I found the right strength nic and at least acceptable flavors, I was done.

The biggest thing, imo, is to make sure (once the right nic level is found) is to make sure you're never without the means to vape. You're already set with two batteries and two toppers. Make sure you have spare coils / heads for them, and maybe a backup cable for the MVP and a spare charger for the Spinner. Cables and chargers can fail. Heck what what humans made that can't? :)
