Hi Jim, and welcome to ECF.

I'm just a 66 year old whipper-snapper :)

Ask a few questions in this forum, either as a new thread or an answer to (or question on) another, and you'll get your "required" posts in in no time.

Have you started vaping yet? If so, what did you wind up with? Or still doing preliminary research?

Welcome Jim. I'll be 60 in September, never too old to get off the smokes. I joined after looking around and discovering how vaping has changed in the last few years. I just wanted to quit smoking and started with a Kanger Evod kit and moved up to iTaste MVP2 and a couple clearomizers. I'm content and have not had one cigarette craving. My liquid is 18mg and 12mg.

What are you vaping with?

Hi Jim, and welcome to the forum. I got you beat on age - 72 on my last birthday, and I've been vaping and not smoking since January 2014. I am still stunned and amazed at how well vaping has allowed me to put down the cigarettes. I was a heavy smoker all my life. I'm so glad I made the switch.

There are lots of friendly folks here to help you with any questions or concerns you might have.:)

Hi All,
Sheesh sure a lot of nice responses already...
Just to update all I have smoked since I was 12 years old...and have COPD (emphysema) ...I bought my first e-cigarette in June this year and after a week I upgraded to to a rechargeable Itaste then started updgrading my tanks. I am using 24mg Nicotine 'smooth Canadian Tobacco' now.
I for the first week of vaping craved my morning cig' and cheated but since June 14 I haven't had a cigarette, but have to chain vape in the morning to get my Nic fix.
The questions I have are related to flavored juices and Nicotine levels. One sample 18mg nicotine juice didn't give me the Nicotine I needed so I went with 24mg Smooth Canadian Tobacco but now that is a boring flavor so was going to mix a flavor juice with my Nicotine juice but don't want to loose the 24Mg of nicotine content, will I?

Hey Jim-
You're doing better than I am. I still can't give up the after-dinner cig but, I'm getting close. Since you're into DIY you'll get a lot of good info here. If you'd like to try a couple of tobacco flavors I really like they are:

Highbrowbacco Flavors - E Liquids USA | Highbrow Vapor

I thing the Highbrowbacco Menthol is going to be my mainstay. If you don't like menthol they base it off of their Exotic Blend. It's available up to 36 ml nic. They also have excellent customer service.

Casablanca Blend

I tried Backwoods Brew Casablanca this weekend. Went through three tanks. Available in 24 ml nic.

In the flavors forum you'll find a bunch more tobacco flavor recommendations.

Congrats on making the switch. Keep on...

to ecf GrandPapa. So glad you are here. One thing you never have to worry about here is people not being nice to you. This is my first forum so I don't know if they are all like this but ecf is just a wonderful place to be. Don't ever hesitate to ask about anything. Good luck to you and happy vaping. I look forward to reading more about you. :)

Good choice with the VV3, it's a nice little unit. Even though you can use it in pass-thru fashion, you may want to get at least a second. Backups are critical to success :)

And don't sweat it, what counts is how many you don't smoke, and, as you've found, once the nic level and flavors are good, it gets pretty easy.

Adding anything to your juice that is any thing other than the same nic percent will change the final result. If you're just adding a drop or two of flavoring - probably zero nic - to a bottle of juice, it's not likely to be a noticeable change.
