Hi guys. I just started a few weeks ago on my own. My husband has a mod and I would use it occasionally. I finally got my own, a KangerTech NEBOX. I've been pretty pleased, despite the negative reviews with the leaking. I'm about to get a new coil, as I've been using the titanium one that came in the kit. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations to whether titanium or nickel is better in a box like this. I tend to stay towards the sweeter fruitier juices and keep it at 50 watts and 400-425 degrees.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing your opinions!

howdy! and welcome!

no experience with Ti, yet - have some wire and some Ti coils, but have not used them yet... Ni is decent... personal preference with TC is SS wire, though - super clean flavor - but not sure the Nebox supports it
The Nebox supports Ti and Ni200. I've been happy with the Ti, but I do notice a difference from some friends mods with similar flavors, that taste different to me and am curious if the Ni will be better or worse. Just curious, I know this is all subjective though.

Hi and welcome to ECF. It's somewhat a matter of personal preference, but I'd stick with Ti if you have been happy with it.
I know it is subjective, but I'm trying to get a feel as I am completely new to this. I definitely still want to try the Ni just to be sure and see the differences.

completely reasonable :) i can definitely understand that - you seem to have already tuned into the key to this whole shebang - it's about finding what works for YOU, sister :)

Welcome to ECF!

I scour ECF and other sites for my own lil vaping notebook for future purchases. Here is what I have on Ti and Ni:

DON'T BUY Nickel Ni200. WARNINGS: don't pulse the coils, don't wrap tightly to get a single hot spot, the metal leaches, and also releases nickel carbonol which causes cancer according to FDA...safety rating is F.

For TC, BUY ONLY Titanium: 99% pure titanium, 1/3 less resistance than Kanthal, NOT TOXIC TO HUMANS - BETTER THAN STAINLESS STEEL BUT EXPENSIVE, not a carcinogen titanium dioxide boiling point is over 5000F but burns as low as ~300F at low mass. Possible place to purchase - Lightning Vapes Ti Grade 1.

Good Luck!

Just out of curiosity, why Ti over SS? Ti can produce titanium dioxide at high temps... My experience with SS has been excellent and all the research I have read indicated zero toxicity issues

Thank you for asking. The comments that I left were made by more senior ECF participants. I take copious notes when the heavies weigh in. I plan to buy a lot of Ti, SS, and Kanthal. I think they're all safe. No Ni for me. The following is what they said abt SS.

Buy Stainless Steel: 316 series, which has a safety rating of 95 (A+) (ECF:Marc411: I know several people on ECF including myself that only use Stainless in power mod and the vape as dcfluegel said is very clean. I've gone as low as .3 with no issues. You will see some fluctuation in your resistance when the coil heats up and cools off but it's normal. Personally I a big fan of the 24ga. The ramp up is also much faster with SS. Scientific studies clearly show leaching of nickel and chromium in SS cookware at low temperatures depending on what's cooked. TC MODE IS BEST!);

rock on, brother! :) I definitely understand the copious notes part, lol - I have two entire sections in one note dedicated to vaping - one for DIY juice, one for coils, wire, batteries, random, random, did i mention random?

have been making ss claptons with 316 (26g core, 32g wrap) and LOVE em - though i generally run em in wattage modes
