here is a picture of the coil: Screenshot

It's not opening for me (I have problems with the firewall here at work on file sharing sites). Maybe someone else here will be able to see it and tell if it is still okay or not.

@suprtrkr Can you check that link out from your end and give his coil a look over?

On it, @Kaezziel Looking at you photo, I am assuming that is a prefab coil, that is, you did not build it yourself. In that case I would soak it overnight in pure grain alcohol or high proof vodka to try and loosen the gunk. It may not work. Those prefab coils are designed to be disposable. Another option is you can try the method people use with coils they build: pull out the wick, dry burn the coil-- put it on the battery and fire it-- until the gunk burns to ashes, then scrape it clean with a toothpick or a probe, then put in a new wick. The wick in that one appears to be silica rope. That's usually available in a vape shop, but I read above you don't have access. You can also use organic cotton from the drugstore. It would probably taste better than silica anyway.

Ok, looking again, I dug up Justfog. They offer a replacement coil cylinder for series 14 tanks, which is probably what you need. I don't know where to tell you to get them in the EU. Try the alcohol trick, and order some coils from wherever you can get them.

Thank you for the detailed response tinfoilhatman, It is indeed prefab I will leave it overnight in alcohol as you suggest. Is there a e-cig brand or model that uses the best tasting wick as you say and has other improvements that you consider essential or make an obvious difference in the taste and smoothness of the smoke? I do not care necessarily for feeling a burn or 'cigarette hit'.

Thank you, my Brother! Yeah, I can see it now in the pic posted above. That is one grungy lookin' coil.

There are tons of choices out there, bread_baby. My current favorite is the Target mod/tank combo. It uses a ceramic coil head that seems to last me about a month before needing to be replaced. It is made by Vaporesso. Again, not sure what your best source is, but here is a link to it on FastTech which ships out of China.

Replacement coils are here as well:

I build my own coils, and am no expert on prefab coil tanks. If supply is a problem, the Vaporesso Target @Kaezziel recommends is a good choice as the ceramic cCell coils in it are supposed to last a lot longer than regular wire-and-wick coils. In addition to the Target, if you are a mouth-to-lung vaper like smoking a cigarette, a good choice for low priced gear would be an iStick 30 with an Aspire Nautilus or GS Air tank. Both tanks use prefab coils but I think they will be cheaper that a private branded one like Justfog. A step up in gear from that would be a Kanger Topbox Mini kit. This comes with Temp Control, a feature many people like very much as it lets you set the temperature of the vape, an included tank that can be set up for MTL or direct lung vaping, and further includes a RBA adapter so you can build your own coils rather than buy replacements. That last may be deeper than you want to get into it, but it is far cheaper than buying prefabs.

There are many possible wicking materials available to vapers: the silica you have, cotton, rayon, even wilder things like Stainless Steel mesh or bamboo. I am personally a rayon man, but many people like organic cotton for their wick. I have used it often-- right up to the day I discovered rayon-- and it is in my opinion a better wick than silica. All of the tanks I recommend have organic cotton coils available and so does your Justfog if you want to look into that.

You see the problem for me is the learning curve and I can't afford to build up experience, I will look for some all inclusive tutorials. I need a site like tomshardware modders voting site and consumer guide.

Thank you for the links I have bookmarked them.

That's one of the things I like so much about the Target kit... as long as you use the Kanthal coils there isn't much to mess with and learn. Install a coil, insert a battery, fill tank with juice, set mod to 25W, vape... 3-4 weeks later, replace coil and repeat.

Bread baby-
Welcome. One other thought about all the coughing: when I started, I coughed like mad trying to vape. I thought I might be allergic, I figured it would never work. One person told me that cigs numb the throat in a way that gaping doesn't. I still don't know if that is really true, but it is definitely a different sensation that takes some getting used to. The other thing i found was that I had to adjust how i inhaled. Whatever setup you have, try hitting it like a pipe, rather than a cigarette. Most people hit cigs short and hard, but take longer, smoother drags on a pipe (or even don't inhale like a cigar). It helped me to think of it that way. As a bonus, I wasn't burning up my coils as badly after I changed the way I hit the vape. Good luck.

One the coughing when Vaping while smoking I found that is was due to the cigarettes also. Go easy on inhaling the vape and not like you would have done with a cigarette. I found that the coughing went away 2 weeks after my last smoke.

Good Luck and do not give up on quitting because this is the one thing you can quit that people will praise you for being a quitter!
