Hi everyone thought I would sign up because seems like most info I've searched for has lead to this website/forum. So I started smoking when at school around aged 12. I am now 25 and have started vaping. Just went to Electromist and got their basic beginner one. Think it cost about £20 all together with the liquids. Been on the Vape for over a week now and have only had 4 cigarettes since last Monday. A big drop from my usual 20-30 a day!

Must admit I am getting used to the Vape now and feel less urge to smoke, the cigarettes I have had since vaping started have tasted terrible and one made me feel really sick so definitely going to stick to the vape now. Already noticed my sense of smell and taste has returned and also My teeth appear whiter which is great because I was always self conscious about my discoloured teeth.

If anyone got any tips for me then please drop me a message I think I got a lot to learn! currently on 18mg Nicotine liquids going to drop them down soon once I've been a month smoke free.

Right On Jay-Jay. That is a Huge Drop in smoking.

As for any Tips? I'll give you one. I Wouldn't reduce your Nicotine Level too quickly after you Smoke your last Smoke. You have as long as you want to Reduce your Nicotine Level. I'd get 90 Days Smoke Free before I made any major changes.

That, and Make Sure you have Back-Ups for your e-Cigarette/e-Liquids.

Welcome @Jay-Jay-101

Electromist is a UK shop. We had one, but it's closed down. No loss to this town as we have two vaping shops. Most of the hardware is not too expensive, but you need to be careful what you buy from bricks and mortar shops (B&M)... they have a habit of killing their customers on the replacement coils and e-liquids. (You probably already know this...) you DO NOT want to buy replacement coils from Electromist.

Anyway, well done on making the start on quitting smoking.

You teeth will look better, but if you can do it where you live sign up for an NHS dentist (even if you have to wait for 6 months to a year) because although you're teeth will look more healthy and your gums will improve (once you've been vaping a few months) there is likely to be hidden problems from smoking.
Me and the missus stopped going after we quit smoking (years ago now) and were really happy to have nicer teeth. We couldn't have been more wrong... the damage from smoking needs to be fixed ASAP if you have quit forever...

What e-cig did you get in the end? Do you want to know the price of the replacement coils bought from China, but the proper ones made by Joyetech or Innokin or whatever you got?

Good luck. :)

I developed a cough when smoking my pipe in the morning and went to vaping, I started at 18 mg at the advice of a friend which seemed to work. I didn't get much flavor but the nicotine got rid of the urge to use the pipe. A good flavor to try is the RY4 if you like a tobacco flavor but there are tons of other flavors available. Good Luck

Well, your massive drop in cigs seems to me you are going in the right direction.... I dual used for a bit, initially, but had the same experience, cigs either tasted awful, made me feel like, yuck, and didn't really do anything for me. Good for you for taking steps early in your life to repair the damage from smoking, you have your whole life ahead of you. Djsvapor is indeed, a font of information and support, and absolutely, you want to minimize your costs if you can, though for me at this point in vaping, I'm more interested in focusing on vaping, though I do plan to move up the vaping ladder over time. If you can import any ongoing supplies you need, more cheaply, that's always a good thing. I like fasttech a great deal for spare parts and whatnot...

Good luck, keep reading and asking questions.... Your day will come where you are like "I didn't smoke today!" and it feels *so great!* I had no idea I could just vape, it hasn't worked in the past but the support and informaton here helps, a lot. I guess heading toward COPD at age 43 (smoked, heavily from 18 until now, except when I was pregnant and nursing) when I got ready to quit, I was smoking about 2--3 PPD. It was horrible, I have no idea how I lived like that. Really bad pneumonias (x3, pretty much on top of each other) kind of put my smoking in, ah, perspective. :)
