You only need 5 posts to be eligible to post anywhere (You may have to wait for a little for the server to recognize it).

That's posts, not threads, so you can just send 4 more messages to this thread, and you're eligible. Better, find 4 more newbies, and send each of them a "Hi".

But even in the newbies forum, you can ask questions, and you will get good answers.
