Hello everyone,

I just got a brand new mod (lavatube v2.5) in the mail on Monday. I've been using a Kanger Aero tank as well as a Protank 3 with my ego twist, and am now using it with my lavatube. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for a tank that may work better with a mod? I want to try out different tanks, but I have been attached to my Kangers in the past and don't no where to start now!

Thanks!

If you go for something more 'complicated' like a ithaka make sure to order the needed prewelded wires as well.

Ithaka and welded wires? News to me, and I was just thinking of getting one.

Bring on the fog machines!

P.s. I love elipses and parenthesis...

another +1 for Kayfun. I have many protanks, an Ithaka and a few other tanks. Since I got a Kayfun, I haven't really touched any of the others. The Ithaka is nice (yes, you need welded wires for it...non-resitance, resistance, non-resistance, but you can buy Ready Wires for pretty cheap), but I prefer the flavor and vapor from a Kayfun. They are also fairly easy to set up after watching a few videos on youtube.

Give cartos a try. It's interesting the flavor difference between a pro tank and a carto

Is that a general experience, that Cartomizers have a different flavor than that of a BCC? Being new, I have stuck with BCCs that completely break down for cleaning. Is there a reason to switch based on flavor?

Thanks for your thoughts,
Jere

I own a Lavatube V2.5 as well... good choice, it is a great device! I like to use rebuildables mostly... so a Kayfun (clone or original) or Fogger V3 if you don't mind tight air flow... I would definitely recommend a carto tank as well. You could get a tank from IBTanked (it will last forever) and use either a Smok or Boge (though, Boge cartos don't seem to be that great anymore...) pre-punched cartomizer.

Once I stepped up from the egos and got a bigger mod I got a cartotank, a Russian 91 (Kayfun style tank RBA), and I already had an igo-l (rebuildable dripping atomizer). The cartotank is used for flavors that I love and will run about 30 ml through before the carto needs to be replaced. The Russian is for flavors that I'll run a tank or two through (around 8-10 ml), rewick (cotton) and refill with a new flavor. The igo-l is for sitting at home when the flavor ADD hits me. I can pull the old wick, dry burn and put a new wick in in about 2 minutes. Dripping can be a pain in the a.. though.

ive been running protanks on mods since i got my first mod 5 months ago. i just learned how to rebuild the heads with a microcoil and organic cotton and the flavor is sick as t!ts(credit RIP Trippers for the knowledge and the saying) check out his vid on how to rebuild the protank and try that out. kayfun is also a really good way to go but if youve never wrapped a coil i would expreiment a little with some old protank heads before diving into rebuildables because its really frustrating at first and its cheaper to throw a protank head than a kayfun(clone or real). if you do wnat to dive into building and havent before i would suggest building a coil jig. i just made mine out of a block of wood, a wood screw and a 5/64 drill bit glued into a hole i drilled with it. gives you a free hand making microcoils and allows you to really focus on getting the wraps close together.

Thanks for all of your comments guys! This board is certainly more helpful and friendly than any others I've been a member of!...I've tried other tanks before, though none you have mentioned...I bought my lavatube in a kit that came with a carto tank (Volcano calls it the Tube Tank)...It's pretty good, but I'm sure I would enjoy it more if everything but the carto weren't made of plastic...I guess the pyrex glass from those kangers has spoiled me, that is until every new coil head I put in one starts flooding after a day...I just ordered a bunch about a week ago, and every day one of them will start gurgling and flooding...Does anyone know the reason behind this? Or better yet, a fix for it? I ordered Nautilus and a Kayfun Lite clone. Thank's for the suggestions guys...Great idea natewesselink, I will definitely try rebuilding some of my Kanger heads first, God knows I have enough of them laying around.
