Where will it end? Or will it? I got the 4081, loved it, until I started reading about the 901 and the 801 and the 510 and the....so I got the 901 and the 510, and then passthroughs, and then battery packs. Then I started reading about the Screwdriver, had to have two of those, then the Adapter, got it. Then came the Prodigy, as soon as the next one reaches me I'll have two of them, thinking of a third. Now we're talking about 2 and 3 and 4 + atty's on one unit and how GOOD that will be. When will it stop?

OK, I'll stop this post for now, got to go to google to see if there is any soup lines in my area. Dang I'm getting poor. Oh and I won't even mention the 80 atty's I have and the 1,500ml of liquid, and the, oh never mind, I'll just get in line for this one, sigh, OK Zo, what's the price going to be? ;)

I'm willing to bet the voltage drop on 3 atomizers in parallel would put them all in that 5v sweet spot territory. I can tell you from just trying again, I'm getting more then 5v to each of these atomizers. It still needs another hour before it's sandable, then I'll take a quick quickcam vapor production video before I do the battery cover.

I'd bet it would be pretty close... a normal atty draws about 1.5a, I believe? In that case, you'd need to have 4ohms on each leg to get 1.5a at 6v.

A 1 ohm resistor in the common path to the 3 attys in parallel would drop 1.5v at 1.5a, that would make 4.5v at the atty, which would get you close enough, I would think.

If the atty only draws 1a, that same 1ohm resistor gives you 5v at each atty, wired series/parallel (1ohm resistor with all 3 attys paralleled off it)

SharonLM ~ what have you done to the PV in your pic??

ps: have you heard about the 1001?

LOL Kin. I started doing that with my Screwdriver quite a while ago. I buy nail decals and apply them. They stay on forever and yet are easy to take off. These beauties really are masculine without them and it keeps DH for picking mine up and taking off with it if he were so inclined (which he's not because he won't get of the analogs :().

The 1001...8-o

I certainly didn't recognise it as an SD!

Naw, totally not going to sell it. Don't care if someone else refines the idea and does it though. When it's "done done" I'll explain in boring detail how I made it. The only downside to construction is the minimum 3-4 hour wait between certain parts of the build while waiting for things to harden. Honestly, I'd imagine making PV's out of Magic Sculpt will be more of a personal thing. Using this construction technique in mass production would not be cost effective, but could be duplicated closely with injection molding and PVC. .

Epoxy putty is machinable in about 1/2 to 1 hour; but sets much harder.

The main reason I went with Magic Sculpt over anything else, was I read this story about this sculptor that made this dragon with very thin horns, and she dropped her sculpture after a few days of working on it, and it landed on the horns...... and bounced. Horns didn't break. I'm hoping my mileage does not vary.

Indeed - a little flexibility is a good thing; and makes a nicer feel.

Next time she should drop the dragon from a greater height so that it has time to land on its feet ;)

(As the lower half has the center of gravity; the same way that toast lands buttered side down)

I looked up Magic Sculpt on google and WOW the things you can do with it are fantastic! They showed on one website that a giant baseball glove was formed out of it and this glove is in the weather 24/7! That says a lot for this stuff too!
