Definite first edition ripoff of an Empire but not nearly as nice, indeed. I can see people going for it, it's cheap, and Empire has not had them available for some time now except at the big meets. I just hate to see American manufacturers taking the hits from the dollar a day paying manufacturers abroad.

Having said that, I started on an Ego, vaped them for a year, stlll have a few I've not PIF'd for out and about when I want to be inconspicuous.

With the exception of those and 4 Ego Twists I bought for the express purpose of tasting new juice in progress everything else (PV) I own is made here in the US. I firmly believe in supporting manufacturing jobs in this country. I buy the cartos and some of my tanks from vendors who sell Chinese gear, I buy my atties from Empire Mods and my glass tanks from Phiniac.

I definitely love supporting American companies and manufacturers and I do whenever I can. However, not everyone can afford it. Thing is, the American made PV's are typically higher quality and will potentially hold up better and have a higher quality "fit & finish", but I do see where someone would buy a less expensive mod that suits their purposes when it fits their budget.

Take for instance the difference between a Provari and a Lavatube. There really isn't any arguement that I have heard about which one is better. I think everyone accepts that Provari is the way to go...IF you can afford it. But, I know lots of people who have purchased a lavatube because it is sold at a price that they can handle and it offers enough of the same features as the Provari to satisfy the needs of many people.

I think what I am trying to say is that in a perfect world, we would all be able to afford the Empires and Provaris. But until then, I must say that I am glad there are less expensive options for those that are less fortunate. I love vaping and think that everyone should be able to vape rather than smoke.

I agree with Mare. It is nice to be able to get a decent looking mod with the features of a high end mod at a good price. I just purchased a Provari recently because I did want to own at least one good American made mod. After spending so much money on it, I cannot justify spending a lot on another mod. Something like this allows me to get a different mod that looks great and has some features I am interested in without breaking the bank. There are so many types of mods out there that if you do want to start collecting them, it would be very difficult to continually buy the best out there. I have no delusions about which one is better and more quality (obviously the Empire), but with this I am able to get something similar. They will not put the American company under unless they are the exact same quality for half the price, which I don't see happening. There will still be enough people that will pay the premium to keep them a float. Heck, they are always sold out anyway. The more available options the better. With so many companies making mods, it will drive innovation and lower prices, which is good for all of us consumers of these goods.

Someone just put this warning out in regards to the telescopic mod. I dont like being a downer or nay sayer. I hate when people start putting down new things. I just thought it seemed relevant and when ever there is a question of safety I feel I have the obligation to at least share it. I do see an easy fix, just nicely drill a vent on the end of the tube, somewhere where your battery can get some air and wont damage the look of the mod. It is quite a nice looking device and give people a choice for something elegant at a lower cost.

Hmmm, interesting. Yea, I don't really want to get one if there are safety issues. I'm glad I held off for a few days before purchasing it. I guess I'll wait until it's been around and tested a while to see what the consensus is. Good looking out anavidfan. I kind of wanted a bottom feeder more, so I guess VMod it is then!
