I thought they did zombies like 3-4 years ago. I think the next thing will be super sexy sensitive and effeminate Mummy Men.

It's cyclical. Zombies, pirates and vampires go round and round in popularity. When one wanes, one of the others bubbles up to the surface. This has been going on since men put pen to paper.

Funny you shud post this OP.. I literally just came back from watching it after my gf dragged me to the theatre... I've been looking to vent... and i dont want to hurt her feelings too much... sooo heres my 2 cents... (cuz you all sooo blatantly asked for it :p)

HOLY CRAP! if you are looking to spend your hard earned,(or stolen,) money on something you'll fondly remember... ur better off purchasing a $12 nail clipper than to purchase a movie ticket on this irrevocably terrible motion picture. My beef with the Twilight movie saga.. summed up in a few points.

1.) Somebody needs to smack all of the actors in this film and tell them to EMOTE! Edward Cullen has now learned to raise his eyebrows every once in a while... while Bella Swan looks like shes constantly in a state of de-personalization. Although 'dreamy' in women's eyes..(and some men's... i guess) these actors plain just can't act! I've seen more convincing acting in the Naked Gun than in this film!

2.) Somebody also needs to smack the writers of this film and tell them to write a freaking convincing dialogue. They desperately need to understand that when a person is interrupted, THE OTHER PERSON WHO INTERRUPTED THEM IS SUPPOSED TO SPEAK RIGHT AWAY, SO AS TO.. oh i dont know.. INTERRUPT THEM!!!! Not pause for a half a second then speak, making this whole series of films a tragedy of poor timing and stupid comments. Further to that, certain characters SHOULD NOT say things that are, how you say.. OUT OF CHARACTER! If you have a mysterious werewolf of a '16' year old, hes not supposed to say stupid things like "its going to get real ugly real fast" or, a delinquent of a girl whose in love with a vampire say things like "whats your beef with the cullens?"...

BEEF?! .......BEEF?!?!! Did i just pay 12 bucks to hear a terrible actress say the term "whats your BEEF".......in a serious teen soap opera of a film???? i think i would of enjoyed COMMITTING SUICIDE more than sitting through the two hours of what was a low budget, monkey written screenplay.

3.) Lastly... to be quite honest, i cannot STAND this vampire fad that north america (and parts of europe) are immersed in lately. I liked it better when vampire movies were largely action.. like Van Helsing, or Blade, or even Underworld. I think it's so sad that these movies are actually raking in so much money... its like the Bush administration... like.. why are you even HERE?!

Conclusion... If you havent read the book, and can fully appreciate the storyline as a result....dont watch this movie. Please... PLEASE dont go out and watch it.. dont even rent it. STOP ALLOWING THESE ACTORS TO GET MONEY FROM THESE HORRIBLE FILMS!!!! I took one for the team. Unless of course your threatened to get an icepick stuck in your eye if you dont..... umm.. actually not even then, cuz honestly.. ur better off with the icepick than to have this film in you memories.

LOL! HA! thats great. And they'll call it "The Princes of Egypt", and girls will love how sensitive they are... and mummy robes will go in style, and you'll have 13 year old girls writing heiroglyphs in their binders!

Durant, Ok
I won 2 free tickets to go see it tonight. Took my stepmom (she paid for drinks, popcorn, and candy lol) and the movie was ok I'm still up in the air as-to whether or not it was satisfactory lol. Mainly because I missed about half of the movie due to all the stupid teenage girls hootin and hollering every time they saw either Jacob or Edward. It was ridiculous. You can bet your .... that the next one.. I'm waiting for DVD.. I refuse to be stuck in that situation again.

I read the books cus my cousin told me they were sooo good(shes 25 and really loved them for whatever reason). Honestly the books were pretty terrible, at least from a male point of view. The last book is actually decent, although the ending was kinda ......ed, but the rest suck monkey balls. The series really is designed for 13 year old girls though. If you did want to check out the twilight series I would suggest just reading the last book, as it is only one worth reading(my opinion).

I'm just not that interested.

I had heard the hype about the first one and enjoy vampire movies okay, but I just did not like the first movie at all. Bored me to tears. But I know a lot of people loved it.

I also don't get all the swooning over Edward - I've always liked sexy male vampires but don't find him appealing in the least. =oP

LOL you men crack me up! My husband and brother-in-law were not impressed either but I liked it and I'm 28. Maybe it's because I'm desperately trying to remember my teenage years as if they happened yesterday while I'm sadly accepting the fact that my 10 year reunion was this year. I liked the fact that this was a love story instead of all of the action-flick type vampire movies of the past. While it may have been a little much that they were teenagers, it focused on the sultry sex appeal that vampires seem to have. It's not that I swooned over Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner (well, maybe Taylors muscles until I remembered that he is only 16 and I'm not a pedophile), it's the way that both of them have this desire to take care of Bella. Most every woman wants that. Heck, my husband's idea of taking care of me is taking the mouse off of the trap! We women appreciate it for the fairy tale love story.

Btw, you forgot aliens. They seem to be a trend wave as well!

my girlfriend likes it and I make her put up with all the music she hates and a bunch of movies that she's not into, the least I can do is watch twilight, I'm not a picky person I can usually appreciate just about anything in some way. I didn't mind Twilight, and I'm sure I wont mind New Moon and the next 2 (I think there's two more) after that. I didn't read the books but my girlfriend has. I will say the dude playing Edward is horrible, me and my girlfriend discussed that the other night, he looks like an idiot and I just want to punch him in the mouth. Jacob is alright I don't think I'm going to need to see him shirtless throughout the whole movie but apparently that's how the book describes him so from what I hear these movies are pretty true to the books.

I don't read books... ever. I could probably count all the books I've read start to finish on 5 fingers or less. I always hear things about movies "That movie sucked it was nothing like the book. Read the book. The Books better." Usually when I hear these comments I'm thinking "The movie was pretty good" maybe I just didn't have a book to taint the movie for me? I don't know. Anyway I'm off subject so I'm going to shut up now.

Well I got to go see it tonight with hubby. I liked the first movie Twilight better. This one, somehow did not impress me, but the guy who played Jacob Black did great, and had good screen presence. I wasn't for Team Jacob, but might have to switch sides now, because he did so well. Glad they stayed with him . Hubby said he would have liked to see more information, and time spent on the werewolves. I don't know if the directing, cutting, acting, music, but this movie could have been so much better. They didn't hardly give the actors many lines. I think I only saw Jacob's Dad one time. Some actors only said a line or two. Movie was just missing something. I hope # 3 is better. Seems like a lot of the people enjoyed it. I was left disappointed.
