Hello,

So I'm new to ecig and wanting to make a purchase but had some questions I'm hoping some of you can help with.
First I'm in Australia, wondering what suppliers ship the quickest here and how long it usually takes?

Also I'm looking for something cheap (without being crap tho) what would you recommend? How do I know if it uses the liquid or cartridges and what's better?

Also I smoke Peter Jackson, what flavor would be most like this? I'm not sure about all those funky flavours. Just wanting something that tastes like my normal cigs.

I currently smoke 8mg, what strength would you suggest with the liquids and cartridges?

I have tried one before, I don't think it was very good tho- did not help at all really. Had nicotine in it but I'm thinking not enough because I was still desperately wanting a smoke.

Any help or advice would be great :)

Welcome to ECF. I would try an ego twist with a kanger 2 mini protank. These are somewhat inexpensive and work quite well.

As far as juices go, I have tried at least 40 cig/pipe/cigar vape flavors and didnt care for any of them. What helps me is a less/no sweet black coffee flavor. I use a cinnamon flavor and/or a peach/pear flavor to change things up now and then.

Theres Aussie vendors around, but others like Litecig will also ship to you (takes 3 weeks through the mail though)

The ego twists are about $7 dollars more expensive over there, they run $27 or so there (for the large 1300 mah battery).Aussie Ego Twist Vendor and the Protank Mini is $16 ($3 more expensive) Aussie Kanger Protank 2 Mini Vendor

So you can spend a few more dollars and not have to wait 3 weeks.

Hey there Cazzie! Welcome to ECF.

I'm not going to be too much help with your questions. As to what works, inexpensive, but not cheap... Many start with a Ego Twist or a Vision Spinner. These are good to start with. I think an MVP would also be good, if you are not set on something that looks like a tube. If you get something with a standard thread size (510 is the most common) you will be able to use cartomizers (what I'm thinking you mean by cartridges) or liquid in some sort of tank. By standard thread size I'm talking about the threads on the end of the battery where you screw the juice holder on. Cartomizers can be purchased blank and filled with your own juice. Tanks or clearomizers, of course, you fill with your own juice. Some popular clearomizers are Kanger Protank or Evod, Innoken iclear. There are many others.

Being in Australia, you might want to look at a mod type ecig. Most of the small ego type batteries are closed units. You recharge the whole thing. When the battery reaches the end of its life after x number of charges, it is dead and you throw it away and get a new one. More advanced ecigs have replacable batteries. The advantage to something like this in Australia would be that you might be able to purchase the batteries needed without paying for oversea shipping. I'm not sure about that, but it's worth looking into. Examples of this would be Vamo, Provari, itaste SVD, many others...

I can't help with the cigarette tasting juice. I have no idea. Is 8 mg the nicotine content of your cigarettes? We don't have them labeled like that here, lol. Is that a fairly low nicotine content? Um maybe 12-18 mg/ml would be a good start.

There is an Australia forum here at ECF. I think you will need 5 posts first, before you can post there, but in the meantime you can read the threads there and see of anything helps you out. Australia - New Zealand Forum

There is also a separate forum I've come across before called Aussie Vapers. I found it one time when ECF was down, and they seem pretty nice over there. Not that I'm suggesting you abandon us here, but it's another resource for you to use. AussieVapers | The original Australian e-cigarette community

We're allowed to import it for personal use ... 3 months supply at a time only ... dunno how they work it out but I just had 2x 500 ml delivered no probs , ordered 100mg PG so I can break it down myself and it goes further ... ( a bit paranoid in case gov. bans it so stocked up for a few yrs ..LOL!)

Whew, a liter of 100 mg/ml. That should last a while ;). I think I've got about 2 liters in my freezer. It will probably go bad before I use it all.

What do you all think of this one? Just want to make sure I get something half decent really want to quit smoking lol. Tried finding ones you recommended and this one seems ok. Couldn't find the others. Seems like these guys have a decent shipping time. Http://www.heaven-gifts.com/KangerTech-E-smart-510-cartomizer-starter-kits.html

Would be a bit of a pain being a USB charger. Could it plug into iPhone adapter? Lol

Also what brand of liquid would you recommend?

I'm not loving that set up. I think you can do a lot better. Those batteries are unregulated, meaning they will start out providing a higher voltage (~4 volts) then gradually taper off until too low to power the atomizer. My first set up was like that and I got to where I could only stand vaping on a battery that was freshly charged. The spinner sda posted a link to is a much better option, IMO.

As for the USB thing, Most ecigs are USB charged. Many come with a USB thing you plug into the wall and then plug the USB cord into that (sorry, don't know all the technically correct terms for these things, lol).

Don't worry cazzie there is a lot of learning with e cigs, just jump in and enjoy the ride :) I use kanger tanks I think they're pretty good and work well. Something to note on the batteries if you didn't know 'mah' is the power of the battery, the ones you asked about are tiny and would probably last only 2 hrs tops, I have 2 1100 mah batteries and I can flatten one over a day so I use the other as a backup. Just a handy tip for ya

Hi. Best advice I can give is "just do it"!! I looked into vaping early in the year and got so confused because I couldn't work out what to buy that I gave up. On the night of the last election someone (Bob Carr I think) was being interviewed and a woman behind him was blowing clouds of "smoke". My husband said "OMG look at that woman smoking behind him!" I looked up and said " oh no she's not- she's vaping" to which he replied " oh a couple of the girls at work do that". That moment changed my life- I looked into vaping again and I nagged him until he asked the "girls" at work what I had to buy. I bought an Ego starter kit and a few juices and I will never smoke again. I still use the Ego batteries sometimes but now use different cartos and clearos etc. But it got me started. All you need are 2 batteries, a charger, a couple of things to stick on top (clearos/cartos) and some juice and you will be set to start. Then the wonderful search for something even better can begin!! Enjoy the journey but don't wait 6 months like I did. And good luck!!
