Hello All

New Vapor from Omaha Nebraska. Would love to here from other vapors in the area.

Mainly researching at this point, have experimented with gas station e-cigs and know there has to be a better world out there, and this forum is helping me find that.

If your in my area, give me a shout, as the I have already been thinking about forming a "society" or "club" to help bring it more known in the community.

Hey Kegger, glad you finally finally got here. Omaha myself (Papillion) and have been vaping for about 16 months now. If you tried a gas station e-cig and that didn't put you off from wanting to try vaping, you're in for a real treat.

I've learned a few things this past 1+ years (lots of them the hard way) and would be willing to give you the benefit of my VAST knowledge . I've help 3 co-workers get started and saved them a ton of aggravation and $$ by not letting them make the mistakes I did.

Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Thanks for the shout out hawkeye, I'm sure I will need your assistance somewhere along the way. My only question is.....

Are there any retail stores that sell quality products in Omaha? Or is it just overpriced mall crap and poor quality gas station products we have available locally.

far as I know it's just overpriced mall crap, but in an emergency any port in a storm works. There was another member on here from omaha that was setting up a e-liquid venture but haven't heard anything about it for a long time. He had given a company name and said a website was in the works....I should check into that.

even though we have nothing local you can usually get whatever you need via the interweb in 3 days or so. One thing you will see in this forum constantly is to make sure you have backups for everything and then have backups for your backups. If you don't let your supply get too low, waiting 3 days or so for an order is no problem.

Glad you found your way here and posted. Have you decided what you're going to get? This is an exciting time for a new vaper...the anticipation and such. It's like being a kid at christmas and that feeling hasn't worn off for me yet:thumbs:

Welcome aboard! I am just an hour east of you in Iowa :)

Hubby and I buy all our stuff online. Haven't found anything close to buy from. I did see some juices at a tobacco shop in lake manawa but it seemed pretty expensive (over by golden corral). Good luck with whatever you choose, I recommend a kgo for starting, but if you want smaller an 808 works (it is what got me off reg cigs). Now I have moved onto a reo and love it.

I am currently looking at 2 different routes. I would like my wife to do this with me but she seems to laugh at the thought.

Hoping to get her on board I have been considering going with the Volt products, for a more "analog" experience.

I myself would want to start with the KGO kit so I have a product with more options in terms of carto's, resistances, tanks etc.

Welcome from northern NY.. may I say that you can't go wrong with a kGo. I started with a slim cig style and the battery life is less than stellar. I've only had my new kGo a few days, and I'm seriously impressed! I've become a pretty heavy vaper.. and the kGo batts are lasting a full day and a half... the slims only last a few hours. And the throat hit and vapor out of this kGo is awesome! I think the kGo would make an excellent way to start out. And with 510 threading, you have a ton of options for it. photo.jpg
This is my new red kGo.. with a pretty red drip tip... it's DA BOMB! Woulda saved a ton of money if I'd started with this one. But no matter which way you go, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor, getting off those coffin nails. Good luck to you and welcome aboard!

Welcome!!The volts are a great ecig, I love mine and I also have a kgo and I love it too, you can't go wrong with either of them. If you can get past wanting one that looks like a cigarette just go with the kgo and you won't be disappointed. The only problem I have with the volt is battery life, other than that it is great and a simple starter ecig! Whatever you choose I'm sure you will love it.

Don't think you can go wrong with any of the EGO type pv for a starter. Once you have the kit (charger etc...) you're go to go forward. Batteries are cheap to replace.

I would recommend a second charger in your initial order, especially if 2 are splitting up a starter kit. That way you each have a charger when you go your seperate ways in the a.m....and a backup third wouldn't be a bad idea as the chargers seem to be a weak link in my opinion. 510 is the way to go for compatability (510 to whatever adapters are easy to find and cheap should you decide you want to try 801/901 hardware) and again...right off the bat...start thinking backups-backups-backups. Running out, having a batt. or charger die prematurely..etc...really sucks after you have found the vaping can so easily keep you off analogs.

Check out the deals and steals thread when your getting ready to order...could save you a buck or 2.

Yes, I plan on backing up most everything, I plan on going with 4 batteries if I go the 808 route, and at least one spare if I go with KGO, and no matter what at least 20 blank cartos.

The world of vaping reminds of the world of homebrew which I used to be involved in. So many tricks and work a rounds, and it still comes down to the consumers perference.

IMO cartos are the way to go...atties are to finicky. With that type of batt. you may want to stay at 2.o ohm or above. That may have changed since I had an EGO, but the lr cartos/atties had the possibility to fry the mofset switch in them ( someone correct or tweak that statement if need be).

Ummm...you said "homebrew"....my productivity for the day is probably gone. Thanks:party:

I know some people like 1.7's on their kgo's...personally I don't, I think it burns through juice way too often. 2.0 works well, but I am in the minority as I like 3's on my kgo. I think it is just because I bought some on accident, so when I did try the 2.0 it was warmer and seemed to take away the flavor. I do think had I started with the 2's I would have liked them better but oh well!
