Hello all, sorry for the in consistent post.

Just got my new stuff. kangertech subox mini.

I've been using it at 12.5V earlier, it started to pop juices up the drip tip.

Now I have lowered it to 10.5V and below, but it doesn't pop no more. I like the drag, so I'm doing low airflow.

Now I faced problem of likely say, lack of tastes and I see a burnt coil and brown cotton. That could be a problem I guess?

What's the recommendations for a good drag with mixture of nice taste.

if it was easy, it wouldn't be you.

Um, I'll bet you're actually setting 12.5 or 10.5 watts, not volts. That's the power applied to the coil, and your mod will try to hit that level regardless of the resistance of the coil you put on top. Within operating limits, of course.

Popping is generally due to drawing too hard and/or too fast, not so much due to power level. And too low a power level will reduce the vapor and flavor.

Likewise, once a coil starts to gunk up, the flavor and vapor will decline, and the tendency then it to keep upping the power until the wick burns and the flavor gets REALLY bad! Then, it's time to replace or rebuild the head.

Coils life depends on several variables. Darker juices tend to cause it quicker. Sweeter juices will as well, although that can depend on the type of sweetener used. Higher power levels can tend to slow the build-up of crud, but how high you can go depends on the particular flavor, airflow through the topper. The higher the power setting, the more air is needed to prevent overheating and burning.

Some darkening of the wick is normal, but black and/or burned is usually because it dried out while being fired. If actually burned, time for a new coil (or rewick, or rebuild. Depends on the topper.) Chain vaping is one contributor to drying out wicks - give it at least a few seconds between long draws to help avoid that.

Hey, that helps a lot.

Thank you! Will see on how to improve it better! Still learning, and ever learning.
Welcome, from one Subox owner to another!!!

Good luck with it!

Yes, there is a bit of a learning curve, especially on technique and maintenance. But it's not too steep, and we've all been through it. There's a tad more to vaping than smoking - after all, smoking is just like breathing (and learning how to use a lighter and ash tray!).

But once one learns the ins and outs of the particular hardware, it becomes almost second nature to easily ID the trouble spots, most of which are actually easy to fix.

And it seems that, no matter what the hardware, someone on ECF has figured it out :)

Really enjoying the sub box mini, try out the coils they give you and use the Rebuildable deck, there's loads of tutorials out there on how to install them and the sense of achievement is mighty!
Yes, I'm on RBA now. It is great, just trying out all the recommendations out there!

if it was easy, it wouldn't be you.

Hello and Welcome MMM
Subox is popular of late. gather they are good , haven't really followed up on people who have one.

The Rebuildable deck is much better with the subtank mini they give you with that kit, the juice holes are a lot bigger and better placed, really liked it! Drip tip is a bit janky though.

And yes, I find the drip tip a little off. Are looking around for a different driptip.

I quite like vaping with glass drip tips, they warm up nicely without getting too hot, plus you can get Pyrex drip tips pretty cheap and they work almost as well as glass does

One often overlooked part of vape-land is the tip. The bore - the hole through it - can be of varying size. And that WILL affect the vape because it affect the total airflow through the topper.

Actual material, not so much, although the metal ones do seem to run warmer than glass, Delrin and so on. (And are harder on the teeth when driving on rough roads!)

And yes, most current toppers us the "510" tips.
