Yes. The wick is almost always stuck to the coil. I think that when you start to notice a tight draw, that is the point at which the wick has stuck itself to the coil. At any rate, I just wiggle it a bit and pull it off very gently with the tweezers. I have only lost one wick doing this when the mesh pulled from the wicking. You have to be careful but it works for me.
When I have pulled the spike plate off, sometimes it just pulls some of the wick from the spike plate and ruins the wick with only 1/2 of the treads in the spike and you can't put them back in the needle.

Bought the Ego-c from Ovale. Worked great and used the 5 attys in the pack. I like lots of juice, everything from cinnamon to menthol, so I use designated attys for each of the harsh flavors.

I also had 10 attys from Ovale that I ordered. All 10 did not work at all, unless you like dry hits. The first 5, no issues. Not sure what went wrong with these. I just got my order in from cignot and have no issues.

Seems to me there may be a manufacturing issue since they are all joyetech.

Strange. I have 10 knock off ones from vaperite right now. Gone threw 15 from Ovale previously. Had 5 that I got from some place that I don't remember. Out of all of them, they all seem to preform the same to me. And last the same amount of time too. All but 5 where/are the LR ones too.

That just seems really strange...

I know. I want to take apart one of the new ones I got, but will hold off. They look identical. Nothing different about them. But, I tried everything to get the replacements from Ovale to work. I took the spike off. Added juice to the top and bottom of the wick. Put back together and with in 5 to 6 draws, BURNT taste. Take them apart again, adjust wick Up, down. Even tried to remove a few strands of wick. All for nothing. I don't get it. But something isn't right with the 2 packs of replacements.

I GOT IT!! I just took apart one of my new Attys and the mesh is more then half the size of the mesh found on the Ovale replacements. The mesh on the Ovale's went almost the entire length of the spike. I know they are from the same manufacturer, but I am sure they have different "born on dates". This is something that certainly needs to be looked into. I am tempted to place another order through cignot in hopes to stock up on atty's that were probably manufactured together.

It's got to be that mesh.

ALL IS RIGHT IN MY WORLD.....was really close to throwing in the towel.

The only thing I can think of is maybe push a very fine needle threw the needle plate wick a few times and maybe it will wick better. Just a thought.

Hey folks. Haven't posted in a while and wanted to comment on the eGo-C. I have had some issues with the last couple batches of C atty's. These have been Joyetech brand btw. The issue is the wicks have been falling apart long before the coils die out. I think knotin1 has the right of it. There is a difference between the Ovale version of this atty vs the Joyetech...still trying to figure it out myself. Maybe it is simply a smaller amount of the mesh wrapped around the wick material?

Overall I am getting good vapes off the C unit. I even went back and tried some Boge 2.0 ohm cartos and simply did not like the taste vs the C. Any thoughts on this?

I have no idea where I'm at
Here is what I do -- I throw the atties in some vodka and let them soak, usually overnight in a test tube (don't need a lot of liquid). The next day I take them out and let them air dry, but not always, sometimes I go right to the next step. I used to then pull it apart and since it had been soaking, I stopped having the problem of the wick sticking to the coil, but now I just leave everything intact and dry burn it until I can see the coil get red. I realized that there was no need to take it comletely apart if I didn't need to change the wick and if it was hitting fine. Why fool with it if you don't have to.

I was doing the wick mods on the ego-t right after they came out, so replacing a wick is easy, just follow the steps for the ego-t wick mod.

If you are getting dry hits, then you need to push the wick down a bit (a really small amount). That always fixes it for me.

Good luck

Intresting, I have found like you, I just soak in everclear over night and blow it out with an air duster and let it set a little to evaporate and then dry burn with out trying to remove the needle plate and like you said, do it until you see a nice glow every time you hit the switch. I have been trying to take off the needle plate for months and had about a 50/50 success rate, so I lost alot of wicks. This soaking and dry burning has work very good over the last couple of months for me. I almost gave up the Ego-c attys, but now this new method has worked very well for the last several months.

I have no idea where I'm at
As a side note: the ones that I pulled apart without too much problem (when the wick didn't stick to the coil) were the original one's I picked up from MVS. I have some knock-offs from china (no markings) that appear to have the wick as part of the coil wick. That is to say, when I pulled it apart (a new one that I wanted to see if there were any differences) the wick came right out of the spike, and upon closer examination, it appears that they take part of the wick that the coil is wraped around and stick it up through the spike. I first thought it was strange that the wick came right out since it was completely new and the only thing I did was soak it to get the primer out. I used the old standby lube (spit) and twisted it back up and fit in into the spike again. Since then, no problems with neither dry hits nor flooding. It was also strange that there didn't appear to be any wire mesh either. But the atties are working perfectly. Go figure.

I guess that when the time comes to change the wick, that I will have to snip off the old wick at the coil and just put in a new one with PTB (like the original wick mod) since I ran out of mesh.
