With a new President, a friendly Senate, and hopefully new FDA commissioners, how should we all proceed?
Actually someone that really understands the business and science ends needs to put together a letter to Trump laying out the over reach of the FDA. The cost to the small businesses, jobs etc of the suppliers and vape shops that will close. The good studies that are out now on harm reduction and use in smoking reduction.I'm assuming congress won't pass a budget during this years lame duck session, preferring to wait for the new president. So we have some time to lobby hard for a bill along the lines of Cole-Bishop to be passed next year.
How about launching a social media campaign? Our new president reads alot of twitter.

Last I knew he was big on nailing government overreach into regulations that harm small businesses and probably would love to stick one in the eye of the FDA.
You might get him on the business end, but this is a man who thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax, so maybe not on the science end.
I would think there will be a change of guard in the FDA which should help us.
Califf and Zeller (FDA) and Burwell (HHS) should be looking for new jobs soon...

Just for fun, I nominate Bill Godshall to replace Mitch Zeller as Director of Tobacco Control Unit and Greg Conley as FDA chief..... :- )
Found this encouraging.... go to a minute in, for about a minute
I emailed the Senator about eliminating the Deeming...
Much of the "science" on climate change is as junky as the "science" on ecigarettes. One hint of this is how both activists groups try to shut down any discussion or dissent on the topic where critical comments on web pages are scrubbed and only certain 'true believers' get to participate in seminars and discussion groups. And 'consensus is used most often rather than science. Consensus is the opposite of science.

I don't think the science is junky, but I do think it's debatable what can be done to mitigate it, at this point.
Millions of people are asking themselves how this new president will effect their cause, including us vapers. Trump says he's going after corruption. If there are risks associated with vaping (or the climate) we should pay attention. But what helped get Trump elected is a lot of people besides vapers are disgusted by the way science is abused by politicians to manipulate the conversation for causes not related to vaping (or the climate). If Trump pushes the conversation to include more points of view, instead of trying to manipulate us, that might be a good. We wouldn't be talking about this if Hillary won the election. She's just 4 more years of what we've had.As long as this thread can stay on the subject of vaping, and not go off on political tangents, it can stay here.
If it does start going off in another direction, if it can't be brought back to vaping, it will get moved.
It will be an interesting 4 years and hopefully, a few vape friendly Republicans will actually help us.
