Ran across this tonight while checking the "news"

http://msnvideo.msn. com/?videoid=674e765b-105b-de15-eba9-dc26d1fdcad2&src=v5:share:sharepermalink:&from=sharepermalink

This stuff really ticks me off... My own personal doctor has actually told me flat out that he has no problem what so ever that I use my ecig and even says he's happy that I have stuck with it instead of smoking "analogs" This video is just flat out giving misleading if not flat out false information...

this was not journalism nor a news story ... this was an anti-vaping infomercial!
I found it more comical than infuriating, which it should infuriate me, but out of his 5 points non of them were in any way truthful and so blown out of proportion that I had to chuckle most of the way thru ...
#5: easily adaptable to smoke ......... ... possibly and so is and empty soda can or a piece of tin foil!
#4: still BT ... um, more like they're scrambling to catch up with stuff, now that people are actually quitting smoking by the millions.
#3: They're save, right? ... has any company actually ever claimed that e-cigs are save? (I know not, better minds than mind would have to chime in) :D
Secondary vapor has been shown to cause respiratory and disease problems ... ? could he have been anymore vague and/or ambiguous?
#2: If you switched to e-cigarettes you haven't really stopped smoking. LIE!
E-cigarettes are marketed as a smoking cessation tool, but in some cases people use them to get their 'nicotine-fix' in places where NOW they can't even smoke.
I really am speechless!
#1: Kids love 'em! blah blah blah ... I just laughed at that
.... and number of teenagers using doubled!!! ....IMHO, those are kids that aren't smoking real analog cigarettes, so it's a win!

Only the 3rd one and last one (or what he referred to as #1) are the ones that I think are misguided.

3rd one is justified with "studies have shown" which could be said about anything. I, and I'm sure everyone on this forum, would like to see what studies he's referring to.

And one about flavors aimed at kids is my #1 political issue with vaping. But no need to preach to the choir (here) on that one. I'm vaping Apple Jack'd as I type this (akin to Apple Jacks cereal) and is currently a favorite for me. Do I think a 'kid' would like it? Yes. Do I think the vendor made it to attract minors to vaping? Well considering I've communicated with the vendor several times, I'm certain the vendor did not. Instead, the vendor made a great flavor of vape, offered it to legal adults who just happen to love it, and made it a top seller.

IMO, it is very disingenuous to claim eJuice vendors are making flavors to target kids. And accurate to say they make flavors to target adults who wish to explore the 1 million plus flavor combinations that are sold and enjoyed by legal vapers all over the globe.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Everything that came out of his mouth made me mad. I love how these reporters spend all of an hr doing real research.

nah, more like pulling stuff out of his ... in less time than it took to watch this piece of garbage.

I like how he used generalized statements to try and defame the e-cig industry...such as "the secondhand causes respiratory and disease...issues".

Idiots. And the only people that believe this crap are "SHEEPLE" that have no mind for their own. I don't trust the media no matter what they say anyway. Screw 'em.

yeah I'm in total agreement with you on this...

#5 yep, you can totally make it so you can use an ecig to "smoke" other things... but lots of other things that are alot cheaper and easier to get ahold of can do the job just as well. soda can, piece of copper pipe, rolling papers...

#4 big tobacco is "still" selling the stuff... no... they are starting to sell the stuff cuz they are losing money due to the people that have quit and want to get some of that money back...

#3 they are actually safe... 1. my doctor actually said as much. 2. CASAA has already reported about a study that has tested ecigs and you know what they found out? "New study confirms that chemicals in electronic
cigarettes pose minimal health risk"

#2 if you switch, you HAVE quit smoking. if you are actually trying to quit nicotine, there is a reason why they have different mg strengths in liquids... so you can start high and work down to 0mg -_-

#1 kids love em! um... I haven't seen a single kid that has even used one. and really, I would much rather they do use ecigs instead of actually lighting up a real cigarette...

Wow.... What a joke! Where did they get the information for this? It looked totally unprofessional and ignorant. Secondhand vapor causes respiratory and disease issues?? If the 'issues' that they are talking about is the fact that respiratory symptoms get better (like asthma among others) and risk for disease (like cancer)is reduced, then I agree with them.
The sad thing is that the anti-nicotine zealots will see this as further proof for their cause.

I dont see what everyone is upset about. There are far worse propaganda out there than this video. Okay most of it is either true to an extent and other statements are opinion at best. Yes other substances can be put it them, Like it or not its true. Big tobacco does make some but most of us on here dont buy them. They arent safe is a statement that none of us will know for sure til years to come and research Ive seen showed very little but some carcinogens. Your still smoking isnt to offensive to me and yes like everything else kids are attracted to them.

In summary none of the statements in the video I would consider blasphemy!

Except the substances they said can be used in them.. The first he mentioned is true sure but the second is an unrealistic obvious blow because bringing it up just brings dear towards the object. An e cig ain't smoking that sorry people....
