I thought it would be nice to have one area for new owners to post their admiration for their newly acquired baby. Maybe if everyone used this area to proclaim their joy and/or posted their unboxing pics the main Provape forum area wouldn't become so cluttered with several posts a day about said events.

New owner with no admiration for Provari, :p it seems like a hyped up costly tube to me at this point of time. What I think I understand now about Provari owners, is that its for those who do not like complications, and would like to run their cartomisers, clearomisers etc. at 3-4 V reliably and consistently.

You say that like it's a bad thing. :)

No, no its not a bad thing at all, what I wanted to convey is that its not just for me. As a beginner I would like to experience everything that the vaping world has to offer for finding my holy grail setup, which also includes rba's and maybe rda's and who knows even sub-ohm (though thats not a fault of Provari at all, I very well knew that limitation)

And in the beginning of that journey I realise that Provari does not like high volts, so I think I am justified at being a bit disappointed, :D

What kind of topper are you using and what ohm is it?

I bet your voltage is too high for that low ohms. I run my coil around 2.0 - 2.4 on my kayfun and I can run my volts all the way to 6.

That is my concern, why is Provari deciding that its too high? I use my Vamo in watts, and I can run it at 14-15 W whole day, which is what is giving me great vape. And hence I decided to try it on provari to see if the experience is in anyway better.

We used to have a greeting thread in our former home, but it got derailed, as is the way of the ProVarinati.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/501193-greetings-our-newest-members.html

I'm using a KFL+ with a 1.3Ω coil (or was until I took it apart a few minutes ago). I was vaping it between 3.5v-4v (that's around 9.5 to 12 watts). What was the problem again? Are you not happy with the taste or are you focused on the number?

lol to be honest I simply didnt try the lower number before or after the error at all (It did give a couple of hits before starting to give error, also it did work at 3.0V) Yeah, you can say I was focused more on the number, :p But in my defense I would say, on the Vamo I started from 8W and gradually climbed over to 15W, and the high watts is what I liked for this build

Edit : Sobersnyper explained it in the other thread, At 5.5 V with a 1.3 ohm coil, the amperage required is 4.23 amps and the resulting wattage is over 23 watts. I'm not sure what you were expecting considering the Provari V2.5 has 3.5 amp limit as well as a 15 watt limit. It is giving you the E1 and E2 codes because you are exceeding these limits.

So all is fine, let me give Provari another chance, :p

I should have quoted you before. You are correct that what the ProVari excels at is provided a consistently smooth vape, it's not designed for "sport" vaping, that is the forté of other devices. You can use RDA/RBAs on a ProVari, but not sub-ohm. ProVape recommends ≈2.5Ω resistance, since it gives the user a wider range of settings.

Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not defending the ProVari (I'm presently vaping a mechanical), but the numbers aren't far off from what I vape with a KFL+ on my ProVari.

The square root of watts x resistance = volts. √PxR = V. So with a 1.3Ω coil on a Vamo and set for 15 watts, the Vamo is adjusting the voltage to ≈ 4.4 volts.

15 x 1.3 = 19.5
√19.5 = 4.41588043316

Or going the other way 4.4²/1.3Ω = 14.89 watts. Both the ProVari and the Vamo top out at 15 watts.

At 15 watts, your Vamo was only applying 4.42 volts, so decrease your voltage on your Provari to 4.4 volts and you'll be a happy camper.

Hi, I am a fairly new member to the forum and also a fairly new ProVari owner. Just a couple months. Wow. It is pretty much all I use now. The standard setup is my ProVari and a Kayfun lite. I have been running a 1.5 ohm micro coil with cotton and have had a really hard time using anything else. There is just no comparison. In fact, I am so happy that I just purchased another, the tracking says it will be here on Monday. Can't wait :)

Right - kudos for "another chance". But yeah, the ProVari isn't FOR sub-ohm.
But 1.3 is OK - at least for me, I've cranked my Russian with a 1.3 build on it PAST where I want it (strong, HOT hit) before hitting the ceiling.

But I gotta say - I'll occasionally use my VAMO, but it's pretty rare - the ProVari has a smoother delivery of power, and to me, it TOTALLY makes a difference, and provides a better vape.

I hope you find the same!!

Good try on having a single "I just got my ProVari" "Now I get it" thread!
lol

Yeah, that's been tried. They'll start a thread, then post the exact same thing in this thread too. As has already happened...
