So, I picked up a replacement for my greensmoke kit. From DarthVapers I ordered 3 VV eGo 900mah batteries, 2 in a kit with the atty and tank, and I picked up one of the eGo-W cartos. Shipping was lightning fast, and some extras were tossed in as well. Great experience. I also picked up 2-30ml bottles of menthol from Backwoods Brew. Good stuff, far as I can tell - although my experience is beyond limited. I'm still waiting on fluxomizers from gotvapes, so I'll likely have more problems/questions later.

A couple of things concerning the eGo-W carto I don't fully understand. Is there a pre or post-filling procedure I should be doing to get this to function properly? I filled it, and gave it a try, not much vapor, and the taste wasn't very good either. Not sure if it's all user error, or if its a problem with the product. Also, where can I obtain something to cover the larger threaded area, the area the carto screws into?

Next up, the battery. This thing seems pretty awesome, but there's one thing I cannot for the life of me figure out, protection mode. Supposedly five clicks of the button will engage a protection mode that presumably keeps it from being fired off while it's in the pocket. The voltage switching works in exactly the way I expected it to, but I can't get this protection mode to work. It's a non issue, really, but it's supposed to have it, so I'd like to figure out how to use it.

I figured out the carto. Now I need to locate a cone. It seems that the VV eGo does not have a protection mode, and without the cone the button protector is worthless. I have a feeling this is going to become expensive before I find a combination that doesn't leave me desiring an analog. Each step seems to get better, so I have faith I'll find a suitable replacement.

I wasn't aware that the VV ego had a shut off. 5 fast clicks changes the voltage. I don't think you'll find a cone that will fit over the ego-w carto. The outside thread is used for the cone when you use a standard sized cartomizer or the small clearomizer. My VV ego came with clearomizers. A cone will fit over that.

I think you'll be happy with this. It's very versatile. You can use tanks, clearomizers, cartomizers, dual coil cartomizers on the vv battery.

My preference are the cartomizers from CCV. But any cartomizer should work well with it.

As far as the cone, I really never use them. I think you get a better vape without them. The button protector is helpful so you don't accidently hit your battery button.

If you have any questions about it Jason, just let me know. I'm pretty happy with mine although I don't have the ego-w cartos.

You should be pretty well set with what you have now. You have a good pv and some great juice. Now it's just finding a juice delivery system that you like best, and everyone has different preferences. I happen to like the cartos I posted a link to but I have clearomizers and fluxomizers that I like as well.

The button protector- I think I used it once, but it's not bad to have. The cone, like I said, the appearance of the pv is a little better but I like vaping without it. The cone blocks the air channels and it's a warmer but heavier vape with the cone. I don't know if I described that correctly, but I like the vape better without it.

My 3-stage Ego battery from Gotvapes has no disabled mode that I can find. And when I bought mine their description did not claim one (I was just hoping)

It just goes 3.2 3.7 4.2 (supposedly more like 3.9) then back to 3.2. I wish they had fit a disable in there but I don't think there is one.

The Joye Ego-T batteries have a 5-click disable and the recent black Riva 510 SE kits (3.7v) Liberty-Flights.com got in have a 3-click disable.
