Hello All,

Got a second hand Reo Grand VV a week ago. At the same time the RM2 arrived. Still dialing it in, but I have to say I am hooked to the concept already and thinking about getting another Reo.

The VV cut off is just where all my "standard" builds are (1.2 Ohm), so I have to add another turn to the coil and that changes the whole thing. Flavor and wicking mainly that is.

So if I go and get an LP Grand....would running it with a 18500 + Kick be an option?

Does REOSMODS run any specials from time to time? Labor Day Special perhaps? Do you know? I'd like to get my hands on an LP Grand and start modding some of my larger drippers.

Thank you.

Cheers

Rarely the are blemished mods for sale or you can PM Rob and ask for one. I wouldn't bother with the Kick. You can build a coil to suit your vaping style. It doesn't take long to figure out when the vape goes weak it's time to change out batteries. Also later this year or maybe early next year there will be a Reo designed for a Kick and has a spacer for when the Kick goes south so you can vape without the Kick until you get a new one.

ETA There are no sales, trust me these mods are a value at twice the price.

You can kick a grand - use a 18490/500 battery and scrape the finish off where the kick's ground(s) need to connect to metal (except for raw aluminum versions). You'll also prolly want something to stabilize the kick (people have used bits of pencil eraser to help hold it in place).

That said, there's really no solid reason to do this. As Raynman says, learning to adjust coils and builds to dial in the vape you want is surprisingly easy, understanding when to swap batteries is trivial, and the primary reason for safety (shorting) is addressed with a safety spring that collapses when the unit is shorted.

Thank you guys.
Ahem...don't get me wrong, I might be new to the REO but building coils, batteries, electronics is not - RC flyer for years, building inrunners and outrunners, saw the early LiPos going up in flames in mid-air due to over discharge and such - thus I really appreciate the Kick for the consistent power it delivers - it makes the vaping experience (for me) much more enjoyable.

Cheers.

I do believe that Rob can convert the VV Grand into a Grand that takes an 18650 with kick, I saw a thread just last week on it.

ETA - And as mentioned above, a blemished LP Grand is the cheapest way to get another mod, just pm Rob with your color choices otherwise someone will pinch it off the website as soon as it becomes available, probably while you're asleep ;)
