So glad to have found ECF. Joined a short time ago and have already learned alot.
Started vaping over a year ago with great initial success. Used a joyetech 510T w/attys or CE2 clearos. Everything was fine until I started having issues with strength and thickness of the vapor (I should mention that, as a smoker, I hand-rolled organic American Spirit tobacco so I was accustomed to a very strong hit). The set-up I started with was close enough to get me off analogs for several months, but as the strength of the vapor waned, so did my interest.
A couple months ago I decided to give it another try as I really did enjoy vaping more than that nasty weed tobacco (I only really realized just how nasty after vaping for the first few weeks). Got some fresh bats for the 510 and all was well for a while but just not quite enough.
So I decided to upgrade to a bigger battery and higher voltage.
After some fairly in-depth research I settled on the Ego-T 2200 mah mod tube and have mostly been using SmokTech's Redux clearos w/ high resistance heads. BIG difference and WAY more satisfying.
Now, if you've had the patience to read this far, here's my question.... Where'd the flavor go? I used to be able to taste the juices I liked, mostly tobaccos, lightly sweet, right on my tongue. Is the higher voltage killing it or could it be some other problem?
I'll mention one last thing. I just started mixing my own juices. Usually around 10% experimental combinations.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure but I can tell you that high resistance heads produces a cooler vape and also less flavor IMO. You may want to try Standard resistance and see if that works a little better for you.

Good luck and don't give up! I have been smoke free for 2 1/2 years so this really does work :)

LR (low resistance) = warmest vape but also drains batteries faster
SR (standard resistance) = medium warm vape and your batteries will not drain as fast
HR (high resistance) = coolest vape but your batteries will hold their charge the longest

ETA- In my experience, the warmer the vapor, the more flavor

You say you're using high resistance clearos with the Ego-T battery? You may not be pumping enough wattage (power) to the clearo. Also, how long since you quit the cigarettes this second time? Perhaps your taste buds got burnt out from smoking, and may need a bit to recover from all the cigarettes. You also say you're mixing your own juice? Maybe try upping the flavor percentage a bit? Not entirely sure what to tell ya :( I know my taste buds get used to a particular juice after while, and then I know it's time to take a break from that flavor. Someone else will be along shortly I'm sure with more info for ya! Congrats on jumping back on the vaping band wagon!

Thanks for your kind replies and advice.
In response to Ty89m's question, I haven't used tobacco for about three months so I don't think that's the problem.
The new rig is working fine for me - no jones at all- Ijust want the flavor back.
Think I'll switch back to the CE2 clearos for a while- pretty sure they're a lower resistance. We'll see how much difference that makes.
Also, a sales rep(from MyFreedomSmokes, I think) told me recently that too high of a % of flavoring will get lost and you won't really get the taste. Is this true or did I misunderstand?

Are you using your Ego-T in unregulated mode?
Unregulated mode will work better for your higher resistance devices.
Performance will drop as the battery charge level changes.
In regulated mode you will get the best performance with standard or low resistance devices.
Also cleaning the coils on your devices will improve the taste of your juice.
