Hey guys, I'm new to the site and somewhat new to mods and rebuildable atomizers. I bought my first ever ecig prior to going on deployment on my submarine the uss annapolis around febuary. I was pretty happy with the vamos 5 that I bought but it stopped turning on after about 2 months into deployment. One of the guys that was there for only a short period of time had some supplies with him and I bought his 18650 stingray with a mephisto tank and loved it. So as soon as I saw the stingray 26650 mod in a shop in town I bought it and a TobH dual negative pin atomizer. I built the atomized with two large coils, threaded the wicking and was ready to make some vapor clouds. Sadly, when I attempted to use the stingray 26650 it wouldn't fire. attaching the atty to my old stingray I know that it is not the issue, I was also able to attach a kangertech aerotank 2 to my stingray 26650 and nothing happened. I have charged both of my 26650 batteries which are EFEST IMR 26650 3.7v 3500mAH Li-MN and have tried adjusting the positive connection as it is a dual adjustable positive pin. Im not sure what I might be doing wrong, so any help would be much appreciated. Im not sure what stingray 26650 clone I have, although I'm relatively sure its a clone as it was only 50 dollars in a vapor shop. I have a picture that I will attach and through looking online I think it might be a 26650-x because of the design. thank you for any help that you may provide and since this is my first post I have to say this website has been amazing since I got back from deployment in learning about mods and rebuildable tanks.

I have taken apart the magnetic switch and verified everything seems to be installed correctly. The top cover does not come off for cleaning, but does have a plastic piece with both adjustable positive pieces screwing through it. When I first put in the battery I noticed it was pretty loose, I then noticed the adjustable positive connectors and adjusted them and made it so that the battery no longer was loose inside the chamber. Sadly im not sure what else I can try to make it work. The woman who works at the shop was very defensive when I brought it back in and told her I could not get it to fire. she let me try a second which I could not get to fire as well. Thus making me think it must be something that I am doing.

I apologize if I'm asking stupid questions, but how do I verify voltage at the 510 connector? There is no spring, just a magnetic switch at the bottom and two adjustable screw in positive connectors at the top. I adjusted the connectors until the battery was tight and there was no indication that it was loose. Batteries are charged according to my intellicharger i2, I do not have a multimeter at the house atm, but I can grab my fluke 179 out of storage if you need me to. The coils for the Aerotank 2 are 2.5 ohms, im not sure what they are for my TobH atty yet as I can find my tester, but I have tested it with a Aerotank V2 so it should be working regardless.

just tried what you suggested. I removed the top cap, installed the atty and then adjusted the adjustable screws. I did notice that the atty installed further down against the top cap and that the battery was more secure with the bottom push buttom further away from the locking device but I can still get no firing from the atomizer installed, TobH mod or the AeroTank 2

I will try to get my ohm meter out of storage tomorrow after work.

trying to trouble shoot a mech mod, without a functioning multimeter (volts and ohms) is like banging ones head against a wall.

You should always have one in your bag of tools, if you are a mech mod user.

I figured out what the issue was. I went to the shop and this time the husband was there. He explained that only the second positive screw should be adjusted as the top one needs to be fully inserted otherwise it will not connect to the tank... so with the top screw fully in and the second adjusted most of the way out I am now able to get it to work. hoping to have time to swing by my storage unit this weekend so I can grab my fluke and test the atty build :) Thanks for the replies, sorry that it was a dumb issue.
