Hey guys,

My Paragon V3 clone finally broke down. Could not work with it anymore. Found a small vape/smoke shop and picked up a stingray clone for $30. I figured it was cheap enough to take a chance. Boy what a difference coming from the paragon! Fires and vapes so beautifully. Using with a derringer clone that is just beast for me (coming from an igo w so i guess thats a step up)

Had a question as I like to get advice from similar users who may have the same issues I may run into...is there any way to identify which maker of the clone I have? I have heard companies like Infinite, hcigar, Tobeco attached to clones of the Stingray. I would love to find out which one I have.

I'm a frayed knot. Being clones the markings will all (that I'm aware of) will ape the original. The Stingray is an excellent mech, beautiful and efficient.

Please test the venting capability on yours. Many of the Stingray X clones have almost zero airflow out of the tube, or so little as to be potentially dangerous as the holes around the perimeter of the top and bottom caps are often tiny.
Take off one end, make a seal with your mouth and blow down it, how much air escapes? Repeat with the other end off. I have taken the liberty of drilling additional 2mm holes around the top and bottom of my Stingray X and most of my other mechanical mods, which gives me peace of mind. Even if your tube has sufficient bottom venting, an 19650 cell will often vent from the top as well as swelling and blocking the tube nullifying the bottom vent holes.
I don't mean to alarm you unnecessarily, but if a battery vents and the gas cannot escape the mod, it will explode.

"Imagine a firecracker in the palm of your hand. You set it off, what happens? You burn your hand, right? You close your fist around the same firecracker, and set it off. Your wife's gonna be opening your ketchup bottles the rest of your life."

You may already know all this, but someone else reading this thread might not.

Love my Derringer. Run it on a SMPL. I've had the Infinite Stingray Black Copper clone for some time now, and just ordered an Infinite/SXK clone of the Stingray X. As sonic bomb says, check for sufficient venting. It was necessary for me to provide vent holes in my BC Stingray (who cares...it's a clone).

Honestly, the best way I've found to ID a clone manufacturer is to google pics of, for example, "stingray x sxk" or "stingray x tobeco" and start comparing. There are almost always differences in minutiae.

im actually having an issue with mine this morning. I have two AWT 3000 MAH 40A batteries that wont fire with it. They are flat tops. The connections feel tight with no rattle but for some reason not firing.

I do have another batter that is wrapped red but the flat top has a little ridge where it is a tiny bit higher than the AWT. That one fires great. All batteries just came off a full night on the charger. There has to be some kind of adjustment for this right? I know on my Paragon V3 I had to adjust the floating pin for the different battery types.

Sounds like the top battery contact may be too broad to make a solid connection on the flat-tops. Have any button tops to try? Or maybe a smaller diameter top battery contact from another mod that would fit the cap?

Also, beware of any xx650 battery rated for continuous discharge over 30 amps...any such creature is either mythological or over rated by the manufacturer/labeler.
