"Knowledge about which flavors appeal most to adult smokers without appealing to nonsmoking teens presents an opportunity to greatly reduce health risks among adult smokers without increasing the risks for youth."

Seems like someone is just looking for anything and everything they can regulate. It looks to me like they're looking for flavors to start banning so they can get a foot in the door.

^^^^^. *conspracy theory*

Everyone has an agenda. What do you think they meant by that statement?

Here's an excerpt from the study they referenced in the article:

"The e-cigarette flavors tested appealed more to adult smokers than to nonsmoking teens, but interest in flavors was low for both groups."

The article didn't mention in plain words that neither groups were particularly interested in any of the flavors presented, but they did manage to say that knowing what flavors appeal more to adults and less to teens would be beneficial. Beneficial to who?

Study Shows E-Cigarette Flavors Do Not Appeal to Nonsmoking Teens
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Nonsmoking teens show very low interest in using e-cigarettes, even when...

People who have no interest in vaping are not tempted or lured just because a certain flavor may be available. I don't drink alcohol am not tempted or lured to start just because there are flavored versions available. vaping is no more a "stepping stone" to smoking tobacco than drinking water is to becoming an alcoholic. The feds know all this but desperately need a plausible excuse to justify regulating and taxing the vaping industry/community.

Well I think this study is a plus for our side as they keep saying the flavors attract youth to trying vaping but here we have some proof to say not so as we stand before the decision makers of this fight we are in and this helps squash the propaganda about such claims

I agree, studies are a good thing. It just irks me when they include such comments as the one I pointed out. Sorry if I went off on a bit of a tangent, but I've seen our kind get screwed too many times. It's frustrating.

It's like they're saying "we haven't found anything yet but rest assured we're looking, stay tuned, ANTZ"

It never has anything to do with flavors even though they have been saying that for ages. Think about it logically, how was the taste of your puff of a cigarette? They got nothing else so they attack it. I really can;t taste the flavors anyway. Unflavored taste the best to me.

This is not a fair comparison. Water kills!! 100% of people that drink water die. Every single person who drank water since the dawn of time has died or will die. We must ban water. Kool aid and the tea companies add flavor to water to make it more attractive to the children.
