Hi,
Been vaping for years but recently thought I'd progress to a sub tank. In keeping with my liking of Aspire I chose the Atlantis Evo, and very good it is too, bags of flavour and clouds.

So, March 8th, and I assembled it with the supplied 0.5 coil, primed, filled up. Lovely hits, loads of flavour, loads of vapour, great.
A couple of days ago I noticed it had suddenly started spitting for about a dozen or so pulls after refilling, and then it would settle down. Same juices, same wattage, nothing changed. Today (March 31st) I now also detect a mild burning sensation at the back of my throat toward the end of each pull.
I'd say I've been thru roughly 50 - 60ml so far in total, over the 3 weeks. I have my suspicions, but just to put it beyond doubt, do these symptoms point towards the coil being on its way out? As I say this is the first sub coil for me and just looking for clarification of the signs I should be looking for.
With MTL vaping, I always knew the coil needed changing when it started to taste crap. However with this sub tank I haven't noticed (yet) a bad taste.

Juices I've used: MYLK strawberry, VV Pinkman, Yogg, Mother's milk. All around 70VG.

Maybe it's because you are now getting a wider breath, more vapor and more flavor, you're also noticing the burning of the coil faster, and also it might mean your coils are going faster

Three weeks and 60 ml is pretty good out of any coil. It will depend on the juice as well. A sweeter commercial juice will typically gunk it up faster, and higher power will give you more heat and more gunk. Honest, I'd be happy with an adv that got three weeks out of a single coil. I usually end up rewicking my RTAs every week or so (unless I'm really lazy), which is the advantage to building your own. Cotton is really, really cheap. Factory coils are not.;)

I've just seen some videos on rebuilding stock Atlantis coils. Some of them they keep the coil and just blowtorch it clean and wrap it in fresh cotton, and others they wind a new coil as well.
I think for now I'll just stick to replacing whole, as they're under £3 a pop here (about $4). I might buy some bits and have a go at one at a later date to see if it's viable.

OK new coil, much better now. Odd thing though is that one of the juices, the MYLK strawberry, spits and crackles like crazy, tried messing around with wattage but doesn't seem to help much. It does die down once the vacuum builds up after filling, but still does it sometimes thereafter. None of my other juices do it, just that one. It does look a little thinner though, despite it being 70VG. Is it just inevitable that some juices will do this, depending on their makeup?

It can happen depending on their makeup. It can also happen if it's not the VG listed on the bottle. I'm not insinuating anything bad about the juice you got or the vendor who made it. But the only way I know for sure what's in my juice and at what concentrations is when I make it myself.

Ok I found the problem! When my first 0.5 went bad, I initially tried the 0.4 from the Evo's kit (that was all I had), but even with the airflow two thirds closed it was a bit too airy for me, and I preferred the flavour from a 0.5, so I went and bought a pack. Put it in, and draw was tight so I opened the airflow wide, and then I forgot about it. So upshot is, I saw an article about it and it reminded me, so I just turned it about a third closed, and voila, spitting gone!!
