Hi all,

Not been on here for a while, but I got a Nautilus X tank a couple of weeks ago and after a while on an airy setting I felt the next natural step would be DTL, so I got myself an Atlantis Evo and off I went, got the hang of it quite quickly.
One question though, with a sub tank it seems after I've filled it (not fully, leaving an air gap at the top), the first few pulls are low vapour and harsh, then it sorts itself out. Is this the tank creating a vacuum again perhaps, and if so is there any tricks to minimise the effect?

Currently vaping 70VG Pinkman 3mg in Atlantis Evo on an Eleaf ipower 80w mod.

Yes it's creating the vacuum pressure again which is crucial so your coil doesn't start to flood if left sitting. Before you take a toot take a vape as you normally would WITHOUT firing your mod if that makes sense. 2-3 times jus give it a couple pulls to fully saturate whatever coil you are using. Suggestion if I may, you'll soon find yourself buying a OBS Engine, OBS Engine Nano, Geekvape Ammit etc and start exploring the beautiful world of RTA's. No stock coil not even my Smok TFV8 big baby beast stock Coils (I use T6, X4, and Q2) many would argue Smok makes the best stock Coils on the market but they don't come anywhere near the flavor you get off YOUR OWN built and wicked coil TRUST ME. I recommend the OBS Engine Nano personally I've been using one for a little over a month now and I'm addicted. It's a single coil build deck unlike the regular Engine which is dual coil. Beauty of single coil is higher ohms, less juice consumption, and way better battery life and you get the same amount of vapor clouds are just as dense but flavor is second to none the way the Nano has its airflow pointing right at the coil front and back. Plus for you if you're new to RTAS the single coil build deck on the nano is hands down easiest to build out of all my 20 something RTAS. And with its top airflow not bottom airflow it's seriously impossible to get it to leak. It's a dream bro look into it. Buy premade Coils at first something intricate since it's single coil like aliens or fused claptons or stapled staggered fused etc those work best I've found. You won't regret picking up a Engine Nano it's my favorite RTA right now it's a dream. You'll b blown away by the flavor and ease of building and maintaining it. Wish ya the best!

Oh and use Cotton Bacon V2 as your wick. It cost a little more than Japanese organic cotton but it's worth it. It last for a very long time, it doesn't burn or singe and it doesn't over saturate and flood if left sitting for a day or two. Plus there's no funny taste for the first few vapes. It's the best wick in my opinion and I've tried pretty much everything there is. Make sure it's V2 Version 2 cotton bacon not V1

Yea 3 is the sweet spot for sub ohm. Seriously though bro do yourself a favor that I promise you won't regret google the OBS Engine Nano or watch a few YouTube videos about it. You'll b in flavor heaven. It's easier then you think to build and wick your own RTAS if you start out with premade Coils. 3FVape.com is where I get all my stuff it's always been authentic when I check the codes, it's free shipping no matter what and their prices are HALF what U.S. vendors charge for stuff. Only downside it ships from China so takes about a week to week n a half to get package. There's an app called 17TRACK on iPhone probably android to I'd suspect that you can track your packages since the tracking numbers are funky since originating out of China no American package tracking app reads the numbers but 17TRACK is an app specifically for tracking international packages. You can get the Engine Nano for $20 on 3FVAPE and I'd recommend a variety pack of premade exotic coils like aliens. Tiger, staple staggered fused etc they have 48 coils for like $8. 6 coils per type of 8 different exotic coils. Bag of cotton bacon V2 for like $4 and since free shipping for about $30 you get the best flavor machine and easiest to build LEAKPROOF RTA on the market right now with 48 very nice coils all perfect for single coil builds and if you take care of you Coils by when you change out cotton every couple weeks dry burn em then stick under cool running water an get the .99 cent stainless steel brush off 3FVAPE and give em a quick scrub they last forever. In my regular OBS Engine the dual coil one I had a set of aliens .35 ohms last me almost 4 months once. I usually get a couple months minimum outtta my Coils with proper maintenance. The 8 types of 48 coils range from .35 to .8 ohms perfect ohms for a single coil flavor machine. You'll b extremely happy I promise you plus once you get into RTAS rebuilding your own coils and tanks then DIY e liquid it'll blow your mind how cheap (COST EFFECTIVE) vaping has become. I've been vaping RTAS exclusively for couple years now and been making my own e liquid for about 8 months now an lemme tell ya it's unreal how little money I've spent on vaping. Plus I use DIYORDIE.com and eliquid recipes.com there's millions of recipes you mix to the T and a lot are clones of the most popular and most expensive store bought e juice. These clones taste just like the store bought juice to and your spending like .50 cents per 120ml batches (that's what I make) instead of $20 plus for store bought. I've been hooked on the Milk Man, strawberry cheesecake and Mothers Milk lately and if blindfolded you couldn't tell which was the juice I mixed or which was store bought. This is where things start to get fun. Enjoy! Have any questions feel free to message me and I'll do my best to help you!
