are these new switches that are supposed to eliminate the dry-hand problem since july last year?

Good question. I just received my Saber; but it won't fire unless I lick my thumb. At first I thought mine was defective but then I remembered reading that some people had to do this.

I am not using a new switch, I've just made it more sensitive, for months now.
You really shouldn't have to lick your thumb... Just make sure you are touching metal (an end cap) while touching the sensor button.

I am indeed touching the endcap. The way I hold it, my whole palm is wrapped around the endcap, with my pinky touching the bottom; basically the Saber is resting on top of my pinky. But I do have to lick my thumb to get it to fire. It is nice when it fires though!

I also frequently have to moisten my thumb or finger no matter how much contact I have with the endcaps. More often than not I do not have to do this although I usually have to rub the pad of my thumb across the sensor to get it to trigger.
