New to all of this and have a few questions

I got a eGo that I have been using for almost two weeks, but it seems like i am tasting a more burnt flavor recently. ( I was tasting the black cheer until recently)

Before I get my wife one as well, what are the better vaporizers?

And what should I look for in terms of performance?

Also if in ROchester NY area, best store to get equipment (or even a lot further west and east on the thruway)

I suggest-

Clearomizers : EVOD, Protank II, ce5 wickless
Cartotanks: so many I can't count.

I bet more of the veteran vapers will help a lot more.

Did you by any chance cleaned and dry burned your atomizer? I dont think so. Any better device you will get same after 2 weeks. You'd better look you tube how to clean "your clearo" and dry burn even change the wire&silica

Hi eightcar and welcome!! e-Go is a good brand. Chances are it's your tank that needs to be replaced. Do you have one of those tanks that is clear and can see the wicks hanging down inside? If so....toss it and put a new one on.... you should be back in business. In the meantime consider purchasing a couple Evod tanks. They come apart and you can clean them out and replace the heads when your juice to starting to taste burnt. : )

Welcome to the forum.

A lot of people start with an ego type setup - indeed, a lot of people start with them and stick with them as their main daily setup. I have one as my backup device.

The juice delivery 'toppers' or 'heads' do need a little love and attention as nmackan mentioned. A good rinse out with hot water every couple of tanks is a good start. You can also buy new heads for them (they will usually last anywhere from 10 days to up to 5 weeks)

Let us know what setup you have if you can and we can suggest more specific cleaning methods or replacement parts for them. Some are not replaceable but there are still ways you can clean them to maximize their life.

Hi eightcar and welcome to ecf. The evod and mini pro tanks both work well and are easy to clean and replace coils in. If looking for new batteries too, the higher the mAh the longer they will last between charges.

Hope this isn't a dumb question, but have you replaced the atomizer yet, and cleaned your clearomizer in warm water after disassembling it?

Its a one pice unit (I have been doing research..looks like a CE4 all in one unit).. How do you clean those? Or should I just toss for one I can replace the atomizer in?

If it turns out that you're using a different type of clearomizer, one that can't be taken apart, try using a different one to see if you notice a taste diff. If you got backups with your eGo kit, time to give one of these a try. If you don't have backups, well, one of the first things I learned from veterans on ECF is that I need to think in terms of having backups for everything, and then make sure I have backups for my backups!

Can you post a picture of the clearomizer you have?

I'm loving my protank so far; but it took some chance trial and error to figure out best to leave it upside down most of the time, then flip it to wet the coil and take a drag with it tilted so the coil does not flodd.

Dunno what about it that makes it fog so well compared to my other bottom coil systems; my wierd theory is its the big heatsink piece of metal has something to do with it because I use the same atomiser in another BCC system.

After a week or two and especially depending on what eliquid you are vaping, the coil is likely to get gunked up with stuff.

You can put the coil or the whole thing in hot water to soak; Good idea to keep 2 systems so you can leave one soaking while you are using the other. Eventually however, you will have to replace the coil thing because the coils are currently wrapped on a wick materiel which will eventually burn out/ rot / fall apart.
