Hey E-cig community. As titled, I'm new to the over all community of vaping. I got my first vape pen after finally breaking down a yesterday after a friend offered to buy my first. It's a simple VapeUSA ego-ce4. What I got to try of it, I found to be decent as someone who's starting out, but know it's not something I'll stick with forever.

Here's a short story and my question:

After having the luck of losing my first one out of my pocket into a toilet while hanging out with friends (please don't judge too harshly  ), I went back and purchased another today.Since the smoke shop didn't have my color of the one I lost in the blister packs, they were willing to trade the battery out of the pack with one of the extras they had in the case that was in my color. Come to find out after leaving the store it was not coming on at all and figured that it's completely dead. Alrighty, no big deal. Figured I would charge it when I got home since all I have it the usb charger that came with it. I put it on the charger at around 4:30 pm while I do some social media and what not. About 7 pm I reached down to check the battery and find it rather warm to the touch and felt like it was getting warmer as I was letting it rest in my palm. I immediately pulled it off. Also I have noticed that the light will blink on the pen when charging for a few seconds, but not any other time after. I'm guessing that the light is more do due to lack of charge ... but as a newbie, I figured it was better to find out here than to just assume.

I guess my questions are:

1) Is the battery suppose to get warm when charging?
2) Now that the battery has cooled down for a while, should I attempt again? (I feel this is a strong NO, but better to ask than be ignorant)
3) Basically, all in all, is the battery no good?

Thanks in advance

This is why I bought two starter kits when I first started. Those tanks are all long dead but I have 4 spare ego batteries in case something happens to my Spinners. Haven't moved up to a mvp or anything like that.... yet...
And I've never had one get even slightly warm while charging that I've noticed.

Welcome to the Forum!
I too ordered multiple starter kits when I first started, basically because they were cheap. That saying the only benefit from a truly cheap kit is the ego batteries are the only survivors from it, and gives me the knowledge of having back up batteries that will last while my others charge.
Back ups are always a good thing.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. :)

I took it back in with me today and explained what was going on. They looked at it and such while I shopped around for a bit. All in all, it was a bad batter and willingly switched it out. Now I'm having no issues and enjoying the learning process of getting to know my vape pen.

Sounds like you've got a winner with your B+M (vape store). Welcome to ECF!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :D

I now have another question for thought, but I'll start a new thread for that.

Welcome.

I am having a little laugh... as the man who has lost TWO e-cigs down the toilet steath-vaping in Nandos.

To djvapour: Glad to give you a laugh :) I could only wish I was stealth vaping at that point, but mine was just unfortunate timing of a "flush and stand":laugh:
